My children an' me are food gatherers for our people; just like it was taught to me. I am always complimented for havin' such respectful children. But, my children are like any other children who will do wrong things here or there; who doesn't rite? en' no, I do not want to have another child because I, along with other mothers know how very hard it is......... I am a 35 year- young Native woman here on the Yakama Indian Reservation who has fallen over, or stumbled many times on the rough trail of life. My book is an autiobiography that I have started down in Sante Fe, New Mexico while I was attending the Institute of American Indian Arts in 1996- 97. I am an artist of many talents who is very traditional to our way of life. I am a single mother of two wondreful children who I would do anything for. My children look up to me as the strongest person in the world who is passing on our culture which was passed down to me by my elders. My family here on the Yakama reservation of the lower Yakima valley of Washington, and our family on the Umatilla Reservation know that I love them all very much.....except...
