The Third-Grade Detectives are looking forward to their field trip to a local art museum, where a priceless fifteenth-century statue of Joan of Arc is on loan from a Paris museum. But when they arrive, they discover that the statue has been stolen
The police quickly find the statue -- smashed into pieces and thrown in a Dumpster. Why would someone steal the statue only to destroy it? It looks like a new case for the Third-Grade Detectives -- even if the museum director doesn't seem to want their help.

WHO SENT AMBER LEE AN ANONYMOUS LETTER?

Everyone loves the new teacher, Mr. Merlin. Mr. Merlin used to be a spy, and he knows all about secret codes and the strange and gross ways the police solve mysteries.

Now there's a mystery in their very own class -- someone sent Amber Lee Johnson an anonymous letter. Noelle and Todd want to solve the mystery before anyone else. But first they have to figure out Mr. Merlin's clues. How can a bunch of envelopes tell them who sent the letter?

The new restaurant in town is a hit, but when several diners get sick, the Health Department threatens to shut the place down. And if the restaurant closes, Todd and Noelle's new friend, JoAnn, may have to move.

Mr. Merlin's Third-Grade Detectives want to prove that the problem wasn't the restaurant's fault. But Mr. Merlin's clue doesn't make any sense -- how can green be dangerous?

The tree house is back--but where is the enchantress Morgan le Fay? The
search for her begins as Jack and Annie are transported back to ancient Japan,
where they find themselves in the cave of a ninja master. Will the evil
samurai warriors get to Jack and Annie before they can learn the secrets of the
ninjas?

Jack and Annie travel through time in the Magic Tree House and explore history while experiencing adventure after adventure.

Jack and Annie are whisked off to the vast plains of Africa, where they must
solve Morgan le Fay's third magical riddle. But that's only the beginning! Once
the riddle is solved, they still have to get past a pride of lions, a humongous
herd of rampaging wildebeests, and one very hungry Masai warrior.

Jack and Annie take a trip in their tree house back to ancient Egypt, where they help a queen's mummy continue her voyage to the Next Life.
