This proceedings volume covers research in key areas of applied
mathematical analysis, and gathers works presented at the
international conference "Concord-90," in honor of the 90th
birthday of Professor Constantin Corduneanu (1928-2018). The event
- which Professor Corduneanu was able to attend - was held at Ural
Federal University in Ekaterinburg, Russia, on July 26-28, 2018.
Professor Corduneanu's research in mathematical analysis spanned
nearly seven decades and explored a range of important issues in
the field, including studies of global existence, stability
problems, and oscillation theory, with special emphasis on various
classes of nonlinear equations. He published over two hundred
articles and several books, including "Almost Periodic Oscillations
and Waves" (Springer, 2009). In this volume the reader will find
selected, peer-reviewed articles from seven fields of research -
Differential Equations, Optimal Control and Stabilization;
Stochastic Methods; Topology and Functions Approximation;
Mathematical Biology and Bioinformatics; Mathematical Modeling in
Mining; Mathematical Modeling in Economics; and Computer Science
and Image Processing - which honor and reflect Professor
Corduneanu's legacy in the fields of oscillation, stability and
control theory.
This textbook introduces the subject of complex analysis to
advanced undergraduate and graduate students in a clear and concise
manner. Key features of this textbook: effectively organizes the
subject into easily manageable sections in the form of 50
class-tested lectures, uses detailed examples to drive the
presentation, includes numerous exercise sets that encourage
pursuing extensions of the material, each with an "Answers or
Hints" section, covers an array of advanced topics which allow for
flexibility in developing the subject beyond the basics, provides a
concise history of complex numbers. An Introduction to Complex
Analysis will be valuable to students in mathematics, engineering
and other applied sciences. Prerequisites include a course in
calculus.
This book gathers papers from the International Conference on
Differential & Difference Equations and Applications 2017
(ICDDEA 2017), held in Lisbon, Portugal on June 5-9, 2017. The
editors have compiled the strongest research presented at the
conference, providing readers with valuable insights into new
trends in the field, as well as applications and high-level survey
results. The goal of the ICDDEA was to promote fruitful
collaborations between researchers in the fields of differential
and difference equations. All areas of differential and difference
equations are represented, with a special emphasis on applications.

Aimed at the community of mathematicians working on ordinary and
partial differential equations, difference equations, and
functional equations, this book contains selected papers based on
the presentations at the International Conference on Differential
& Difference Equations and Applications (ICDDEA) 2015,
dedicated to the memory of Professor Georg Sell. Contributions
include new trends in the field of differential and difference
equations, applications of differential and difference equations,
as well as high-level survey results. The main aim of this
recurring conference series is to promote, encourage, cooperate,
and bring together researchers in the fields of differential &
difference equations. All areas of differential and difference
equations are represented, with special emphasis on applications.
This edited volume gathers selected, peer-reviewed contributions
presented at the fourth International Conference on Differential
& Difference Equations Applications (ICDDEA), which was held in
Lisbon, Portugal, in July 2019. First organized in 2011, the ICDDEA
conferences bring together mathematicians from various countries in
order to promote cooperation in the field, with a particular focus
on applications. The book includes studies on boundary value
problems; Markov models; time scales; non-linear difference
equations; multi-scale modeling; and myriad applications.
The volume contains carefully selected papers presented at the
International Conference on Differential & Difference Equations
and Applications held in Ponta Delgada - Azores, from July 4-8,
2011 in honor of Professor Ravi P. Agarwal. The objective of the
gathering was to bring together researchers in the fields of
differential & difference equations and to promote the exchange
of ideas and research. The papers cover all areas of differential
and difference equations with a special emphasis on applications.
Based on the 2018 International Joint Conference on Industrial
Engineering and Operations Management (IJCIEOM) conference that
took place in Lisbon, Portugal, this proceedings volume is the
first of two focusing on mathematical applications in digital
transformation. The different contributions in this volume explore
topics such as health care, social technologies, mathematical
programming applications, public transport services, new product
development, industry 4.0, occupational safety, quality control,
e-services, risk management, and supply chain management. Written
by renowned scientists from around the world, this
multidisciplinary volume serves as a reference on industrial
engineering and operations management and as a source on current
findings for researchers and students who focus in business models,
digital literacy and technology in education, logistics, production
and information systems, and operations management.
