This title was first published in 2001. Using a case study from
British Columbia, this book addresses the economies of
institutions, institutional change and transactions costs and
develops the theory of the New Institutional Economics in the
context of forestry institutions. This approach to economic
analysis of forestry investment problems will emphasize the
understanding of the linkages between the biological as well as
institutional attributes of forestry activities.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th International
Conference on Advanced Data Mining and Applications, ADMA 2019,
held in Dalian, China in November 2019. The 39 full papers
presented together with 26 short papers and 2 demo papers were
carefully reviewed and selected from 170 submissions. The papers
were organized in topical sections named: Data Mining Foundations;
Classification and Clustering Methods; Recommender Systems; Social
Network and Social Media; Behavior Modeling and User Profiling;
Text and Multimedia Mining; Spatial-Temporal Data; Medical and
Healthcare Data/Decision Analytics; and Other Applications.
The book contains fourteen chapters. It devote to study the
iteration methods for nonlinear operators and semigroups,
equilibrium problems, multiple-set split feasibility problems,
global vector solutions to a Parametric Generalized System. The
primary aim of this book is intended to be useful to graduate
students and mathematicians, both pure and applied, who need a
simple and direct presentation of the fundamentals of the theory
algorithm and applications of nonlinear analysis, convex analysis
and optimization theory.
This pathbreaking study provides the first comprehensive
examination of India-China interactions in the broader contexts of
Asian and world history. By focusing on material exchanges,
transmissions of knowledge and technologies, networks of exchange
during the colonial period, and little-known facets of interactions
between the Republic of India and the People's Republic of China,
Tansen Sen argues convincingly that the analysis of India-China
connections must extend beyond the traditional frameworks of
nation-states or bilateralism. Instead, he demonstrates that a wide
canvas of space, people, objects, and timeframe is needed to fully
comprehend the interactions between India and China in the past and
during the contemporary period. Considering as well the
contributions of people and groups from beyond India and China, Sen
also explores the interactions between Indians and Chinese outside
the Asian continent. The author's formidable array of sources,
pulled from archives and libraries around the world, range from
Chinese travel accounts to Indian intelligence reports. Examining
the connected histories of the two regions, Sen fills a striking
gap in the study of India and China in a global setting.
Fu Ssu-nien, scholar, and political and social critic, was one of
the most colourful, influential intellectual figures in
twentieth-century China. Wang Fan-sen's biography of Fu's life and
contributions offers an in-depth examination of his role in
intellectual development in modern China. Fu's life in many ways
embodied the dilemma faced by modern Chinese intellectuals:
dissatisfied with the model of the traditional literati, they
lacked a professional, academic model to take its place. Fu's early
years as a student leader of the May Fourth movement and subsequent
life as an activist were born of intellectual dissatisfaction: as
an educator and founder of the Institute of Philology and History
at Peking University and the Academia Sinica, he worked to fill the
void by professionalizing Chinese research and education. This
book, incorporating original, previously unpublished material from
Fu's personal archives, fills a major gap in the cultural and
intellectual history of modern China.
