The NEW2AN 2008 call for papers attracted 60 papers from 19 countries, resulting in an acceptance ratio of 35%. With the help of the excellent Technical Program Committee and a number of associated reviewers, the best 21 hi- quality papers were selected for publication. The conference was organized in 7 single-track sessions. We wish to thank the Technical Program Committee members of each of the conferences and the associated reviewers for their hard work and important contribution to the conference.
