Despite the tremendous progress in the development of scientific
knowledge, the understanding of the causes of poverty and
inequality, and the role of politics and governance in addressing
modern challenges, issues such as social inclusion, poverty,
marginalization and despair continue to be a reality across the
world - and most often impact Indigenous Peoples. At the Margins of
Globalization explores how Indigenous Peoples are affected by
globalization, and the culture of individual choice without
responsibility that it promotes, while addressing what can be done
about it. Though international trade and investment agreements are
unlikely to go away, the inclusion of Indigenous rights provisions
has made a positive difference. This book explains how these
provisions operate and how to build from their limited success.

La ensenanza comunicativa de las lenguas extranjeras es uno de los
aspectos de gran interes para los profesores en los diferentes
niveles de educacion y especialmente para aquellos que requieren
desarrollar en sus estudiantes las habilidades de la lengua
(escuchar, hablar, leer y escribir) con el fin de que estos se
desempenen profesionalmente en areas especificas del conocimiento.
Este libro es el resultado de una investigacion pedagogica de tesis
de doctorado que presenta una propuesta teorico-metodologica para
la ensenanza comunicativa del ingles con fines especificos (IFE) en
el contexto de la actividad docente-asistencial de la sala
hospitalaria en funcion de la formacion de profesionales de la
salud como comunicadores competentes en lengua inglesa, la cual
esta fundamentada en los postulados de una Didactica
Desarrolladora, en el Enfoque Comunicativo y en concepciones del
Enfoque Historico-Cultural. Este libro sera de gran interes para
profesionales de la salud interesados en el aprendizaje del IFE,
para investigadores y profesores en el area de la ensenanza de
lenguas extranjeras, y en particular para todos aquellos que
