Ever increasing population of the globe and use of productive agricultural lands for housing has posed serious threat to future food supply. Low productivity of wheat due to different management practices is a serious problem. Different wheat cultivars are sown in Pakistan in same conventional row spacing ignoring their tillering potential. Optimizing row spacing for different wheat cultivars differing in tillering capacity improves the productivity and thus minimizing the future food shortage risk. Low tillering cultivars sown in narrow row spacing give higher outputs compared with wider spacing. So, to obtain higher productivity low tillering cultivars can be sown in narrow row spacing while; those having higher tillering potential perform best in wider row spacing. In crux, husbandry practices; row spacing in particular, must be choosen keeping in view the tillering potential of wheat cultivars around the globe.

This book investigates the premise that Poverty influences childrens lives in different ways in the public schools of Pakistan, but there is little information about, and understanding of, how poverty-stricken children experience school as opposed to children from better off families. The findings of this study reveal that the school experiences of poor children are not as good as the school experiences of better off children. The parents of poor children do not have enough resources to meet the educational expenses of their children. Furthermore, the findings suggest that poverty that is due to lack of financial resources affects the experiences of children at school, but there are also some other socio-emotional factors which results from poverty such as conflicting relationships with peers and teachers. Therefore, the findings of this study can prove very beneficial for the policy makers in helping them take broader social policy initiatives for reducing poverty and inequality, so that the lives of the poor children could be improved in the public schools of undeveloped countries like Pakistan."

The C4 plants, like maize, are thought to be little affected by global warming. However, influence of increasing root-zone temperature (RZT) on crop plants has largely been ignored. The RZT plays a vital role in availability of certain nutrients by controlling dynamics of soils reactions. In this book, effect of RZT on zinc requirement of two contrasting maize genotypes is discussed. Further research on nutrient availability to plants under different soil temperature regimes is emphasized. The book is aimed at facilitation of under and post graduate students to plan, conduct and write basic and applied research trials on the same topic.

Elementary formal systems are a kind of logic programs. We give a comprehensive relationship model for a broad range of classes of elementary formal systems (EFS) and Prolog Programs along with their learnability results in the frameworks of learning in the limit, learning from queries, learning from entailment, and statistical framework of probably approximately correct (PAe learning. The relationship model accompanies the proofs of containment, partial containment, and/or incompatibilities present among these classes. Further, we study exact learning of two classes of Prolog programs (or equivalently elementary formal systems) from entailment. These two classes, hereditary and reductive, of Prolog programs without local variables contain many useful programs such as add, append, lenght, merge, split, delete, member, prefix, and suffix. We present an algorithm to exactly learn hereditary and reductive Prolog programs and analyze it for its correctness. Moreover, the algorithm learns hereditary Prolog programs in polynomial time.
