This is the first book devoted to mobility management, covering the
important principles, technologies and applications of mobility
management based on years of academic research and industry
experiences. The content is organized according to the reference
models proposed by the authors, and emphasizes on technical
principles rather than protocol details; a systematic and
comprehensive introduction is presented yet without losing focuses;
the existing technologies in cellular system, mobile Internet and
IMS/SIP are also extensively compared. This book can be an
indispensable reference for mobile communication engineers,
computer network engineers, researchers and anyone else involved in
academic, industrial and standardization activities on mobility
management.
This is the first book to introduce UUDN for 5G, including the
concept, challenges, architecture and key technologies. The new
network architecture based on "de-cellular" and "user-centric" is
proposed with three kinds of decoupling: user plane and control
plane decoupling from radio access, control and transmission
decoupling from network, local service and network service
decoupling. Key characteristics of UUDN are provided, including
four aspects: Intelligent network knows user, Moving network
follows user, Dynamic network serves user, and Secured network
protects user. Four promising technology directions are discussed
in detail, including dynamic APs grouping (DAPGing) method,
intelligent networking, advanced interference management and
user-centric security. The authors also include a UUDN solution,
illustrated with numerology and evaluation results as a practical
example. Finally, further research directions of UUDN are analyzed.
This book gives an overall introduction of UUDN for people who are
interested and just begin their study, as well as some suggestions
on further research for experts involved in academic, industrial
and standardization activities on relative fields.

This book focuses on cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (C-V2X),
currently the most promising wireless communication technology for
Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I),
Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P), Vehicle-to-Network (V2N) and
Vehicle-to-Cloud (V2C) communications. Because of its low latency
and high reliability, C-V2X has become an essential enabling
technology for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) and
autonomous driving. This book begins by introducing readers to the
research background and status quo of global development. Then,
after analyzing the performance requirements of various V2X
applications, the system architecture and technical standards are
presented. The two evolving stages of C-V2X, i.e., LTE-V2X and
NR-V2X, are introduced in detail. In addition, related technologies
such as mobile edge computing, network slicing and high-precision
positioning, C-V2X security, C-V2X spectrum requirements and
planning, and industrial development and applications are
introduced. In closing, the book discusses future applications of
and technical challenges for C-V2X. This book is the first
monograph dedicated to C-V2X, offering experts, researchers and
engineers from the areas of IT/CT, intelligent transportation,
intelligent and connected vehicles (ICVs) an in-depth understanding
of C-V2X technology and standards, while also outlining related
interdisciplinary research. The book can also be used as a
reference resource for both undergraduate and graduate studies.
