Pandemics: A Computational Approach provides a comprehensive guide
for public health authorities, researchers and health professionals
in psychological health. The book takes a unique approach by
exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning
(ML) based solutions can assist with monitoring, detection and
intervention for mental health at an early stage. Chapters include
computational approaches, computational models, machine learning
based anxiety and depression detection and artificial intelligence
detection of mental health. With the increase in number of natural
disasters and the ongoing pandemic, people are experiencing

The World Heritage Sites listing by The United Nations Educational,
Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) aims to promote
awareness and preservation of tangible and intangible cultural
heritage around the world, considered to have outstanding value for
all humanity, irrespective of location. UNESCO has inscribed 38
such sites in India, all of which are presented in this volume,
together with commentary by architects and conservationists and
stunning photographs by Rohit Chawla. The cultural sites in India
are a rich repository of the country's long, layered history,
bearing witness to the creativity and influence of multiple
communities, crafts and religions. The sites covered in this volume
range across the length and breadth of India-from the earliest
periods of rock art, Buddhist caves and Hindu temples, Sultanate
and Mughal forts, palaces, tombs and memorials, medieval Hindu and
Islamic cities, step-wells and observatories to Portuguese
churches, Victorian and Art Deco ensembles to, finally,
20th-century industrial and modern heritage sites. The natural and
mixed sites include national parks of exceptional natural beauty
and sites of long interaction between people and the landscape.

-This volume brings together several images, maps and plans to
present the conservation plan for Chandigarh -Forms an invaluable
resource for other similar structures of the Modern era One of the
most ambitious developmental schemes planned on India's
independence was the city planning of Chandigarh - a symbolic
gesture towards the country's future. Designed by Pierre Jeanneret
in 1962 to evoke a lotus flower afloat in a pond, Gandhi Bhawan -
dedicated to the work of Mahatma Gandhi - is a testament to the
culmination of modernism as an aesthetic, historic and
inter-cultural movement in India. Situated within the Panjab
University campus, Gandhi Bhawan was conceived by Jeanneret as a
platform to present his principles of Indian modernism, its design
influenced by Gandhian ideals and the pinwheel toys of local
children. This volume, supported by a grant from the Getty
Foundation's Keeping it Modern initiative, documents the thorough
research and conservation planning effort for Gandhi Bhawan,
including comprehensive testing of its innovative building
materials. Its impact stretches beyond the university, as the
conservation plan outlined here forms an invaluable resource for
other buildings of the modern era. With several images, maps and
plans, this publication hopes to make accessible the work of many
architects, engineers, conservators and scholars, ensuring the
preservation of this architectural gem and the hopeful vision it
embodies. Published in association with Panjab University,
Chandigarh.
