Welcome to the Whoniverse. First stop: everywhere. Six decades may
only be a handful of heartbeats to a Time Lord, but for Doctor Who
it's the adventure of several lifetimes. Evolving over 60 years,
the world's longest-running sci-fi TV show has gifted us a universe
of menacing monsters and unforgettable heroes. You might even call
it a 'Whotopia'. Now you can roam free through the Doctor's
dimension as never before in this special commemorative book for
Doctor Who's diamond anniversary. Join all the Doctors as each
tells their own story. Learn about their legions of legendary
allies - and hear from the monsters' own mouths about what makes
them tick. Find danger on alien worlds and threats here on Earth in
all eras. And explore the gadgets, robots, spaceships, computers
and mind-blowing creations that crowd the never-ending corridors of
Whotopia. Crammed with exciting new images and in full colour
throughout, Whotopia: The Ultimate Guide to the Whoniverse is the
essential celebration of 60 years of Doctor Who.
This is the first in a story split across two releases (to be
followed by Shadow of the Daleks 2 releasing December 2020)
recorded and produced entirely during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Together, the two releases make up a 'mini-season' for Peter
Davison's Fifth Doctor as he is caught up in the Time War. Each
part contains four one-episode adventures, in which the Doctor
lands in different times, different places and keeps meeting the
same faces, but as different people. 1. Aimed at the Body by James
Kettle. An encounter with a notorious cricketing legend should be
right up the Doctor's street, but the unexpected appearance of an
old enemy is about to send the Doctor on a quest. 2. Lightspeed by
Jonathan Morris. The trail has led the Doctor to a spaceship in the
far future - where he finds himself trapped in the middle of a
terrifying revenge plot. 3. The Bookshop at the End of the World by
Simon Guerrier. It's very easy to forget yourself and get lost in a
bookshop. But in some bookshops more than most... 4. Interlude by
Dan Starkey. The play's the thing! Or is it? The Doctor is roped
into a theatrical spectacular - but who is he really performing to?
CAST: Peter Davison (The Doctor), Nicholas Briggs (The Daleks),
Dervla Kirwan (Mrs Calderwood/Yost McCormack/DI Wright/Anna-Maria),
Anjli Mohindra (Flora/Kathy Dafoe/Madeleine Williams/Bianca), Jamie
Parker (Douglas/Monsignor Plummer/Frank Reichenbach/Virgilio), Glen
McCready (Orson/Elroy Dale/Captain). Other parts played by members
of the cast.
December 1917. An important visitor arrives at a field hospital not
far from the front, who makes sharp deductions about the way the
ward is run based on small details that he sees. Sherlock Holmes is
apparently only present for a tour, but asks searching questions
about a young officer who apparently died in the hospital, but
whose records have mysteriously vanished. As Holmes digs deeper,
details emerge pertaining to a cover-up that stretches from the
trenches to the top of the War Office, and conspiracy on both the
British and enemy fronts.
A brand new boxset of four adventures, featuring monsters from the
new series of Doctor Who! Night of the Vashta Nerada by John
Dorney. Funworld was set to be the happiest planet in the galaxy. A
planet of joy, of euphoria, of laughter and delight. Except
construction was marred by reports of a predator and then, a few
days before opening, all communication ceased. Owner Georgia
Donnelly is desperate to open the resort and has hired Amanda
Steele's crew to find out what happened on the planet. They're the
best. But even they might not be up to the task. Joined by the
Doctor and being picked off one by one, they slowly start to
realise that something terrifying lurks in the shadows. Empire of
the Racnoss by Scott Handcock. When a distress call rips the TARDIS
from the Vortex, dragging it back through time, it arrives in the
midst of a conflict between Gallifrey and an ancient foe. The
Doctor, as ever, wants to help, but in returning a wounded
combatant home, he becomes further and further entangled in a web
of deceit and recrimination. A web spun by an eight-legged Empress
and her minions...The Empire of the Racnoss is at war, and wherever
he stands, the Doctor is on the wrong side. The Carrionite Curse by
Simon Guerrier. Katy Bell returns to her Midlands home to find
strange goings-on at the buskers fair. A witch trial in the 1980s.
A bonfire ready to be lit...Luckily, a colourful visitor is already
investigating, and the local vicar, Katy's dad, is versed in tales
of the macabre. Terrifying forces are on the loose, and the town
hall holds a secret. There is black magic in the Black Country, and
the Doctor has the name of his enemy on the tip of his
tongue...Something wicked this way comes. Day of the Vashta Nerada
by Matt Fitton. As the Time War rages, Cardinal Ollistra of
Gallifrey seeks to create ever more dangerous weapons to deploy
against the enemy. When the Doctor stumbles across Synthesis
Station, he discovers that the Time Lords have sponsored a project
to weaponise already-lethal creatures. But in doing so, Eva
Morrison and her team have unwittingly used a colony of Vashta
Nerada with a very unfortunate history of humanoid contact. The
Doctor finds himself leading a desperate race for survival, in
which the shadows may be the least of their worries...Cast: Tom
Baker (The Doctor), Peter Davison (The Doctor), Colin Baker (The
Doctor), Paul McGann (The Doctor), Adjoa Adhoh (Racnoss Empress),
