The second book featuring the new generation of Brighton-based
Moonlight Dreamers. The Moonlight Dreamers have all gone their
separate ways for their half term, each returning with a new dream
for their future. Jazz has fallen for the handsome singer that's
working with her music producer dad; glamorous Allegra has returned
from Spain committed to environmental activism; Portia is on a
creative high after her graphic novel idol offers to mentor her own
efforts; and Hope … well, Hope’s dreams are getting darker as
her heart condition becomes harder to deal with and her OCD
spirals. When the four of them are together anything seem possible,
but sometimes life gets in the way. However, the Dreamers soon
discover that true friendship isn’t just about sharing your
dreams. It’s about who will help make those dreams come true –
and who can stop you from chasing the wrong ones.
Friends make dreams come true Jazz, short for Jasmine, and her
parents have just moved to Brighton from Sydney, so that Jazz's
dad, Mikey, can pursue his career as a music producer. Jazz is
finding it difficult to fit into her new school, and her love of
surfing seems destined to be quashed for ever. Not only do
Brighton's beaches have stones instead of sand and the water is
downright freezing. but there's not a surfboard in sight. When she
meets her older cousin, Amber, at a family dinner in London. Amber
senses Jazz's unhappiness and tells her about the Moonlight
Dreamers, a secret society of likeminded friends that she founded
years earlier. Amber suggests that Jazz seek out a group of
soulmates too and form her own Moonlight Dreamers. At first Jazz is
wary, but then decides to leave postcards for prospective
soulmates, just as her cousin had. And so a new group of Moonlight
Dreamers is born. Allegra, Hope, Portia and Jazz may be very
different but they soon become firm friends who are always there
for one another. They listen to each other's problems and support
each other's hopes - and help them make their dreams come true.
Have you ever wondered if there might be something more to life?
When Siobhan Curham decided to write a book about happiness there
was only one small problem, which became a massive problem as soon
as she sat down to write - she wasn't truly happy. Not wanting to
be a fraud, Siobhan set out to discover the secret to true and
lasting happiness. Her quest took her on an unexpected path deep
into the heart of the world's spiritual traditions. Something More
is a funny and moving account of Siobhan's journey, as she found
religion - and promptly lost it again - then went on to develop her
own spiritual 'pick and mix' of practises from Buddhist chanting,
Irish yoga, Jewish philosophy and Reiki healing, to connecting with
her inner goddess and finding her shamanic spirit animal (who, it
turns out, was a large, black, talking horse). Full of brutally
honest anecdotes and age-old wisdom, Something More is for anyone
who has ever thought about exploring their spiritual side, and
those who might feel disillusioned by organised religion but still
crave that elusive 'something more'. After all, who wouldn't want
to find inner peace and everlasting happiness?
An unforgettable story of friendship, self-belief and love. Amber,
Maali, Sky and Rose are not like everyone else and they don't want
to be. Becoming friends gives them the courage to be themselves. An
inspirational, heart-warming book about four girls trying to find
their place in the world. Siobhan Curham celebrates very different
but like-minded friends in this captivating novel. Amber craves
excitement and adventure. Instead, she's being bullied at school
for having two dads, and life at home isn't much better. Inspired
by Oscar Wilde, Amber realizes that among the millions of people in
London, there must be others who feel the same as she does; other
dreamers - moonlight dreamers. After chance encounters with Maali,
Sky and Rose, Amber soon recruits the three girls to the Moonlight
Dreamers. It's high time they started pursuing their dreams, and
how better than with the support of friends?
Their poetry and art will change the world. Rudy is a street
artist; Clementine is a poet. The day after Rudy sneaks out late
one night and posts her first piece of artwork, Clem discovers it,
awestruck. She takes a photo, writes a poem in response and posts
them together on Instagram. Soon the two fifteen-year-olds meet and
begin their unique friendship, one that nurtures creativity and
results in a special creative collaboration. The girls may be from
very different backgrounds, and experiencing difficulties at home,
but each strives to be true to herself and follow her dreams.
To make a dream come true, tell it to the moon!
Tell It to the Moon
continues the story of Moonlight Dreamers Amber, Maali, Sky and
Rose, who are not like everyone else and don't want to be: becoming
friends gives them the courage to be themselves. After failing to
find her surrogate mother, Amber is left unsure of who she is and
what she wants to do; Maali's spiritual faith is tested when her
father becomes ill; Sky, previously home-schooled, struggles to
adapt to the pressures of the school system; and after having found
the courage to come out, Rose begins to pursue her dream of
becoming a patissier. Once again the four girls band together to
help one another overcome their individual challenges and fulfill
their dreams in this fabulous and heart-warming celebration of
friendship.
