Excerpt: This is a list of articles used in Japanese tea ceremony. Please add utensils by category in English and subcategory in Japanese, in alphabetical order. For reasons of appearance and ease of reading, please do not italicize names of d gu listed here. This list is part of an expansion of the Japanese tea ceremony series of articles and category. In time it will expand to include articles on the major d gu listed. Equipment for tea ceremony is called d gu (; lit., "tools") or more specifically chad gu (; "tea tools"). Chad gu can be divided into five major categories: decorative items ( ); items for the tea-making and service ( ); items for the chakaiseki meal ( ); items used in the preparation room ( ); and items for the waiting room and roji garden ( ). A wide range of d gu is necessary for even the most basic tea ceremony. Generally, items which guests prepare themselves with for attending a chanoyu gathering are not considered as chad gu; rather, the term fundamentally applies to items involved to "host" a chanoyu gathering. This article, however, includes all forms of implements and paraphernalia involved in the practice of chanoyu. A set of implements for tea ceremony. From the back: iron pot placed on furo, bamboo ladle and hibashi placed upright in shakutate, waste water container, blue and white porcelain mizusashi on bottom shelf of bamboo and wood tana. In Japan, cherished items are customarily stored in purpose-made wooden boxes. Valuable items for tea ceremony are usually stored in such a box, and in some cases, if the item has a long and distinguished history, several layers of boxes: an inner storage box (uchibako), middle storage box (nakabako), and outer storage box (sotobako). The storage boxes for tea implements are not tea equipment in themselves, but have a very important place in the practice of chanoyu for the inscriptions on them which serve to validate their history and other such important data. Excerpt: "It Must Have Been Love" is a power ballad written by Per Gessle and performed by the Swedish pop duo Roxette. The ballad became the duo's third #1 hit in the United States, and is one of their best-selling releases, leading the single to be certified gold in a number of countries. The song, included on the soundtrack to the hugely popular film Pretty Woman, rivals "The Look," "Joyride," and "Listen to Your Heart" as the song most closely associated with them. In 2005, Per Gessle received an award from BMI after the song's four millionth radio play. "It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted)," the song's original title, was first released in 1987 after EMI Germany asked Roxette to come up with an intelligent Christmas-single. It went on to become a Top 10 hit in Sweden but EMI Germany decided not to the release the track. This version of the song was not part of any Roxette album until the 1997 re-release of Pearls of Passion, where it was included as a bonus track. The B-side to "Christmas For The Broken Hearted," "Turn to Me," also featured as a bonus track. Side A: "It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted)"Side B: "Turn to Me" During the run of chart-topping singles from Look Sharp Touchstone Pictures approached Roxette's record label, EMI, and the group about contributing a song to the soundtrack of the upcoming romantic comedy release Pretty Woman, starring Richard Gere and Oscar nominee Julia Roberts. Pretty Woman was released in March 1990 and went on to make more than $460 million worldwide. Gessle has claimed that "It Must Have Been Love," by then a two-year-old recording, was chosen because Roxette did not have time to compose and record a new song while touring Australia and New Zealand. Gessle and producer Clarence Ofwerman took the original 1987 recording, had Marie Fredriksson replace a single Christmas-referenced line in the song and added some instrumentation and background vocal overlays to enhance the sound. The term halva (Arabic: halw ), meaning "sweet," is used to describe two types of desserts: Halva may also be based on numerous other ingredients, including sunflower seeds, various nuts, beans, lentils, and vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, yams, and squashes. The word halva entered the English language between 1840 and 1850 from the Yiddish halva. The latter term came from Bulgarian, which in turn came from the Turkish helva, a word which itself ultimately derived from the Arabic al alw, meaning sweet confection. The Arabic root alw means...

Excerpt: The Nikkatsu Roman Porno films were a popular, critically respected, financially successful and award-winning series of mainstream, theatrical Japanese softcore pornographic films produced by the movie studio Nikkatsu from November, 1971, until May, 1988. This is a list of the films in that series. The Pink Grand Prix pink taish ) or PG Film Prize PG eiga taish, "Pink film festival" or "Pink Prize") is an annual Japanese film award ceremony which recognizes excellence in the pink film. Known as the "Academy Awards of the Pink Film," the ceremony attracts a diverse audience of industry personnel, film scholars and the general public. Pink film scholar Jasper Sharp calls it the high point of the year for the pink film community. PG, the leading magazine focusing on the genre, hosts the Pink Grand Prix in April of each year as a review of pink films released the previous year. The top ten films are selected by a readers' poll, and the top five films are screened during the evening of the ceremony held at the Kameari-za theater in Aoto, Tokyo until its closing in 1999, and at the Shinbungeiza theater thereafter. PG magazine was founded by Yoshiyuki Hayashida in July 1994. The magazine was preceded by the limited-circulation New Zoom-up, which Hayashida started in 1989, and which held the first Pink Grand Prix awards beginning that year, covering films released in 1988. Including the "New Zoom-up" years, the Pink Grand Prix reached its 20th anniversary wi...

Excerpt: The traditional Mongolian dwelling is known as yurt (Mongolian: , ger). According to Mongolian artist and art critic N. Chultem, yurts and tents were the basis for the development of traditional Mongolian architecture. In the 16th and 17th centuries, lamaseries were built throughout the country. Many of them started as yurt-temples. When they needed to be enlarged to accommodate the growing number of worshippers, the Mongolian architects used structures with 6 and 12 angles with pyramidal roofs to approximate to the round shape of a yurt. Further enlargement led to a quadratic shape of the temples. The roofs were made in the shape of marquees. Yurt shaped temple. Beginning of the 20th centuryThe trellis walls, roof poles and layers of felt were replaced by stone, brick, beams and planks, and became permanent. Chultem distinguished three styles in traditional Mongolian architecture: Mongolian, Tibetan and Chinese, as well as combinations of the three. Among the first quadratic temples was Batu-Tsagaan (1654) designed by Zanabazar. An example of the yurt-style architecture is the Dashchoilin khiid monastery in Ulan Bator. Excerpt: B-boying incorporates many types of moves that can vary as widely as a breaker's imagination and athleticism will allow. The inventory of b-boy moves is extensive, and there are competitions throughout the world, with a growing number of dancers becoming sponsored entities. The Top Rock is a combination of steps done while standing up. This is the entry dance that Bboys and Bgirls use to start their set. These steps are done before you do a power set or before you go down to the floor. This is the breaker's chance to show how well he or she can rock the beat and/or make gestures to intimidate their opponent. The object is to make a connection with the song either by gesturing on a horn or rhythm section while your feet usually step on the "snare" of the drum/beat section. Names of steps vary upon regions. There are an infinite amount of toprocks, you're limited only by your imagination.
