It's bestie vs. bestie... Suki is assigned to run the student
council Valentine's Day fundraiser at school with JJ: her former
bestie turned worst enemy. He and Suki have been ultra-competitive
about everything for years-there's no way they can work together.
In fact, they almost immediately resolve to hold competing
fundraisers. Meanwhile, Suki longs for a dog, but her parents won't
let her get one. Befriending a stray at the park (who she names
Cinnamon Bun) leads her to volunteer at the local animal shelter,
which becomes her new home away from home. But then the fundraiser
gets out of control, and the shelter might close. Suki is
determined to save the day, but she can't do it alone... and will
she ever get a dog of her own?
Lucy can't wait for the new coding club at school to start. Even
though she's only in sixth grade, she has an idea for an app, and
is excited to get started on it. But Lucy's excitement turns to
disappointment when she shows up at the first meeting. Sophia is
there--she and Lucy had a fight over the summer and they are now
ex-friends. There's also Maya--a very cool seventh grader who
Lucy's never dared talk to. And then there's Erin--a new girl who
nobody really knows. Not only does Lucy not get to work on her
brilliant idea for an app, she also ends up working with Sophia,
Maya, and Erin to discover the meaning of some mysterious notes
that are in coding language. Lucy and the rest of the girls soon
discover that coding takes time, patience, and dedication--and so
does friendship.
Don't make the same mistake Emma made. Don't read my book. Signed,
The Scaremaster ... Don't say I didn't warn you. Twelve-year-old
Emma is excited to spend a night away at best friend Samantha's
house for an epic sleepover with Sam's very chic out-of-town
cousins - but when the cousins turns out to have a creepy secret,

clock to outwit the Scaremaster, and stop a werewolf in her tracks.
For fans of Goosebumps, Eerie Elementary, and the Haunted Library
series, debut pseudonymous author B.A. Frade brings frightfully
funny tales to life in this new middle grade series.
Shaker Street residents are finding holes all over their gardens.
Are animals to blame? Are aliens?! Michael, Liv and Leo-the
Mysterious Makers of Shaker Street-decide to investigate what's
behind all the destroyed landscapes. After gathering some clues,
the makers put their creativity and building know-how to work with
a homemade metal detector. Will the makers' latest projects lead
them to a space ship or a sinister neighbour? A glossary and reader
questions provide support to the young reader, and when the story's
over, readers can become makers themselves by re-creating the
gadgets with instructions included at the end of the book.
When Michael Wilson keeps hearing an unusual sound at night, he
calls on his friends Liv and Leo to help him to work out what's
causing it. The three young neighbours, known as the Mysterious
Makers of Shaker Street, build a tool to amplify the sound, and
they soon discover that an empty neighbouring house is actually
occupied. Will the Mysterious Makers put an end to the troubling
noise once and for all? Readers can become makers themselves by
following included instructions to re-create the tools the Shaker
Street kids use to solve the mystery, while a glossary, discussion
questions and writing prompts make this a great addition for
libraries.

Which do you follow: your head or your heart?
When Sylvie loses the diamond from her late mother's ring, her
best friend, Cherise, insists it's a sign that love is about to
enter Sylvie's life. Yeah, right. Sylvie doesn't believe in signs
-- she only stargazes through her telescope. But she also knows
Cherise won't drop it, so to humor her Sylvie agrees to date the
next boy who asks.
Sure enough, a new guy appears in school, and Sylvie's the
object of his affection. Maybe Cherise was right after all? But
when the sparks don't fly and Cherise thinks Sylvie's just scared,
Sylvie ends up confiding in an old friend. Could finding the
perfect guy be as rare as catching a shooting star?
Now that Sophia and her friends are an official group in coding
club, they can't wait to bring their coding ideas to life. In fact,
they signed up for their first hackathon-a full day of coding and
meeting other coders! When they run into Leila-a girl from coding
club who happens to be into robotics and who needs a group for the
hackathon-they quickly become a team of five. But things don't go
according to plan. Can the girls find a way to work together? They
know that coding is all about teamwork and problem-solving-maybe
friendship is, too!
