Rather than make a career of poetry, Stanley Thompson has engaged a
number of careers from which he has drawn the details and essence
of personal experience which he brings forth in "Sonnets of Life
Well Spent." Motivated by the death of his beloved wife Patricia in
2011, the stories of his journey have come into sharper focus with
an enhanced meaning that has allowed him to present this collection
of 126 poems in the style of memoir. The reader will not only
experience sonnets in the format, and even in the tone, of William
Shakespeare, but will come to appreciate the life of the author, a
life, indeed, well spent.
