There is no greater hope for single mothers than to watch their
sons succeed, and African-American single mothers face more
adversity than most. "Raise Him Up" delves into the challenges
faced by African-American single moms and offers advice, scriptural
support, and helpful prayers. Each chapter relates a spiritual
point taken from the book of Acts, a mother's story, and draws
parallels to the struggles of the modern day African-American
mother. Chapters also offer stories of African-American athletes
who were raised by single moms, and against all odds,
succeeded.
Moms will learn to give encouragement, push their boys to try
new things, and keep them out of trouble. "Raise Him Up" is
essential reading for single African-American moms who want nothing
more than to see their sons grow into happy, successful men.
Features include:
- Helpful tips and tools for raising successful men
- Hopeful stories of success in the face of adversity
- Scripture from the book of Acts

Second-year university student Hayden Grant and her three roommates
can't wait to join the Beta Gamma Pi sorority. At least that's the
plan - until Myra, Bridget and Chandra announce they're each
joining a different sorority. Can Hayden and her girls hold onto
their friendship as they pursue different organisations?
When a night out clubbing puts his football teammate in hospital,
Perry's New Year starts badly. From a run-in with a violent gang,
to Perry's grandmother falling ill, to a tempting flirtation, Perry
finds himself tested like never before. Perry wonders how he can
put God first when he's got so much else on his plate?
Perry's innocence is stripped away when he is surrounded by a world
of jealousy and racism at the all-white Hilton Head. He can try to
fit in with team-mates who despise him for his talent, or he can
follow God's plan and uplift others, demonstrate the way, and make
what is wrong right again.
Now that he's slept with Savoy, Perry Skky's having some major
regrets about not waiting until marriage - and all his anxiety is
starting to affect his football. When he drops a crucial pass he's
distraught, but things are put into perspective when on their
flight home the plane has to make an emergency landing.
The one thing Shari is noticing most about her marriage these days
is what's missing, but her husband's frustrations with his career
as a football coach mean that her complaints are falling on deaf
ears. So when a book she's written is adapted into a play, Shari
jumps at the chance to get away - even if it leads her straight to
temptation.
Perry is one of the most popular kids in class and a straight A
student. He even has such a great relationship with his girlfriend
that he feels ready to take it to the next level. However, Tori
isn't ready. Her Christian beliefs tell her she needs to save
herself.

It's time for Hailey Grant to listen to her heart and determine her
future. Good thing she has her faith to guide her.
After a wild semester, the sisters of Beta Gamma Pi are worried
that Alyx Cruz's partying is ruining their reputation on campus.
When Alyx receives devastating news about her mom, and learns that
because of low grades her scholarship is on the line, she needs
help fast.
When Perry wakes up in a compromising position after having had a
few too many drinks, he realises that it's time to stop partying
and concentrate on the things that matter in life. One of those
things is the beautiful Savoy - but there are a few people who
would like to keep the pair apart.
