Triple bill of crime dramas. In 'Bad Karma' (2012), starring Ray Liotta and Dominic Purcell, a criminal's attempts to go straight are sabotaged by his former partner. Relocating from Sydney to the Gold Coast to start afresh, Molloy (Liotta) is remarkably successful and even finds something approaching domestic bliss with a new girlfriend. Naturally, when his old crime partner Mack (Purcell) tracks him down he finds that Molloy is reluctant to return to his past life. Unfortunately, this doesn't deter the increasingly deranged Mack as he sets about convincing Molloy to help him pull off one last job. In 'The Entitled' (2011) social misfit Paul (Kevin Zegers) is driven to desperate measures when he is turned down for yet another job and his ill mother is given a foreclosure notice on the family home. He enlists the help of two friends to abduct three kids from rich families and hold them ransom for a million dollars each, but the plan goes badly wrong and they soon find themselves in way over their heads. 'Officer Down' (2012) follows Detective David Callahan (Stephen Dorff), known as 'Cal' on the force, who has had a mixed career as a police officer, struggling with drink problems and straying to the wrong side of the law himself at times. When he finds himself caught up in a murder investigation, Cal must attempt to overcome the demons from his own past as well as the challenges of the case.
Zombie horror movie set in the aftermath of the US Civil War. As a veteran of the war, Edward Young (Mark Gibson) has witnessed horrific events and carnage before. However, nothing he has seen prepares him for the shock that lies in store for him when he returns from a hunting trip and discovers that his beloved wife, Julia (Sarah Stunt), has been turned into a flesh-hungry zombie. With his son, Adam (Christian Martyn), also missing, Edward sets out to try and save the boy amidst a zombie outbreak. Will he be able to save his child and discover what lies behind the sudden influx of the undead?
Darren Aronofsky directs this elegaic time-travelling odyssey, in which Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in a series of storylines about a man's struggle to save the woman he loves. In one storyline, 16th-century Spanish conquistador Tomas Creo (Jackman) sets out to find the fabled Tree of Life in order to save his queen, Isabel (Weisz) from the Inquisition. In a modern-day storyline, Jackman is Tommy, a scientist desperately searching for the medical breakthrough that will save the life of his cancer-stricken wife, Izzie (Weisz). In a future timeline, Tom (Jackman) is a 26th-century astronaut travelling through deep space - and finally beginning to grasp the mysteries of life that have consumed him for so long.
Home invasion horror. Newlyweds Sarah (Katharine Isabelle) and Cory (Robin Dunne) take a much needed vacation to the country in the hope of acquainting Liam (Peter DaCunha) with his new stepmum, who he can't accept as part of his family. However, their wishful idyllic peace never materialises when on arrival they discover someone has been in their holiday home and recently fled. When Liam vanishes on the first night, the couple discover their intruders are a cult-like group who want to adopt Liam into their insane and murderous family. But Cory is not going to let them take his son without a fight - forcing the couple to try to rescue him while they fight for their own survival...
