Written long ago. My first book that should have been printed years ago. Printed here now through the wonder of the internet. My regret was that I didn't have, couldn't raise $500 for the printing then when the New York Editor came to Jamestown, ND to see me for my work.

floating to the surface is a transition book taking me from poetry as rhymes and phrasing to a more narrative style that seems to be leading me to prose maybe my next novel. these are memory poems composed from the flashing lights of remembering what was and what might have been.

Assembled from bar napkins, faded journals, poems offered for print, some even printed in national & regional publications from college to a copy shop spiral bond printing in 1989. Reprinted here with new poems continuing the dialogue of words that make my life.

a volume of poetry first copy shop published in 1989 entered into multiple poetry contests contents acknowledged but never printed. the third volume of a series of seven. transcribed from bar napkins, old journals and typed on a manual smith corona. a part of a seven book series based on past writing sophomoric as it may be this is the volume that turns the corner for me. here i believe as does my editor Pati Bubach the wonder of the sky is blue is trumpeted here as the center f the world. the p[ace where i as a writer moved up.

a book of poetry written in the format presented by poetry.com. for my sister pati, who wanted me to write again. then became very ill. i wanted her to have a solid, tangible, viable, real book to hold before the end. thankfully she has this book and now as she has recovered she wants more.
