Contents: Book I: from his birth to leaving Paris, 1491-1535; Book II: from St. Ignatius' final leaving Azpeitia to his settling in Rome, 1535-1541; Book III: the work of the society in its first years; Book IV: last years and death of Ignatius, 1551-1556. Copiously illustrated.
