Biologically Inspired Techniques in Many-Criteria Decision Making - International Conference on Biologically Inspired... Biologically Inspired Techniques in Many-Criteria Decision Making - International Conference on Biologically Inspired Techniques in Many-Criteria Decision Making (BITMDM-2019) (Paperback, 1st ed. 2020)
Satchidananda Dehuri, Bhabani Shankar Prasad Mishra, Pradeep Kumar Mallick, Sung-Bae Cho, Margarita N. Favorskaya
R5,095 Discovery Miles 50 950 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

This book addresses many-criteria decision-making (MCDM), a process used to find a solution in an environment with several criteria. In many real-world problems, there are several different objectives that need to be taken into account. Solving these problems is a challenging task and requires careful consideration. In real applications, often simple and easy to understand methods are used; as a result, the solutions accepted by decision makers are not always optimal solutions. On the other hand, algorithms that would provide better outcomes are very time consuming. The greatest challenge facing researchers is how to create effective algorithms that will yield optimal solutions with low time complexity. Accordingly, many current research efforts are focused on the implementation of biologically inspired algorithms (BIAs), which are well suited to solving uni-objective problems. This book introduces readers to state-of-the-art developments in biologically inspired techniques and their applications, with a major emphasis on the MCDM process. To do so, it presents a wide range of contributions on e.g. BIAs, MCDM, nature-inspired algorithms, multi-criteria optimization, machine learning and soft computing.

Integration Of Swarm Intelligence And Artificial Neural Network (Hardcover): Satchidananda Dehuri, Susmita Ghosh, Sung-Bae Cho Integration Of Swarm Intelligence And Artificial Neural Network (Hardcover)
Satchidananda Dehuri, Susmita Ghosh, Sung-Bae Cho
R3,453 Discovery Miles 34 530 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

This book provides a new forum for the dissemination of knowledge in both theoretical and applied research on swarm intelligence (SI) and artificial neural network (ANN). It accelerates interaction between the two bodies of knowledge and fosters a unified development in the next generation of computational model for machine learning.

To the best of our knowledge, the integration of SI and ANN is the first attempt to integrate various aspects of both the independent research area into a single volume.

Satchidananda Dehuri, Sung-Bae Cho
R3,167 Discovery Miles 31 670 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

Knowledge Mining Using Intelligent Agents explores the concept of knowledge discovery processes and enhances decision-making capability through the use of intelligent agents like ants, termites and honey bees. In order to provide readers with an integrated set of concepts and techniques for understanding knowledge discovery and its practical utility, this book blends two distinct disciplines - data mining and knowledge discovery process, and intelligent agents-based computing (swarm intelligence and computational intelligence). For the more advanced reader, researchers, and decision/policy-makers are given an insight into emerging technologies and their possible hybridization, which can be used for activities like dredging, capturing, distributions and the utilization of knowledge in their domain of interest (i.e. business, policy-making, etc.).By studying the behavior of swarm intelligence, this book aims to integrate the computational intelligence paradigm and intelligent distributed agents architecture to optimize various engineering problems and efficiently represent knowledge from the large gamut of data.
