Last year, I wrote a 30-day devotional, and dedicated it to my
friend, Julie. Her reaction made me laugh out loud... You should
really make it sixty days. That simple comment inspired the book
you hold in your hands. I want to share my journey to the dream God
placed in my heart because it has taken me almost twenty years to
get here. I have tried and failed, given up, and begun again, more
times than I can count. I am hoping that by sharing my experience,
I can encourage you to not give up on your dreams, especially when
they take longer than you expected. I believe the greatest
challenges we face in reaching our dreams are overcoming our fears
and learning to trust God's plan for our lives. I hope that as I
share the disappointment and setbacks I've faced, you will learn
that your own fears or discouragement are not a reason to quit, but
to turn to God, pour out your heart, and learn to trust in His
guidance.
"A study in character developement, Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is a
mezmerizing historical fiction for WWII readers. Highly recommended
" The Kindle Book Review ABOUT MRS. TUESDAY'S DEPARTURE: When
Natalie and Anna, sisters and life-long rivals, hide an abandoned
child from the Nazis, their deception resurrects the scars of a
star-crossed love triangle that threats their safety and tests the
bonds of their loyalty. Hungary's fragile alliance with Germany
insured that Natalie, a renowned children's book author, and her
family would be safe as the war raged through Europe. But, as the
Fuhrer's desperation grows in the waning years of the conflict,
neighbors now become traitors. Beautiful but troubled Anna, poet
and university professor, is losing her tenuous hold on reality,
re-igniting a sibling rivalry that began with a poetry contest in
childhood. It boils over when Deszo, Anna's unrequited love,
re-enters their lives with a promise of safety. As the streets of
Budapest thrum with the pounding boots of Nazi soldiers, danger
creeps to the doorstep and the sisters' disintegrating relationship
threatens to expose the child they are trying to protect. In one
night, Anna's rash behavior destroys their carefully made plans of
escape, and Natalie is presented with a desperate decision.
Interwoven with Natalie and Anna's story, is Mila's. The abandoned
child whose future Natalie lovingly imagines in a story called Mrs.
Tuesday's Departure. A story that takes on a life of its own
seventy years later. Mrs. Tuesday's Departure is a haunting tale of
un-requited love and the un-breakable bonds of sisters.
On the coldest winter night of the year, Little Berar slipped from
the warmth of his mother's side and the safety of their snowdrift
den. Tonight he would hunt with Kalle, the great polar bear. Little
Bear had pestered his mother all morning to go hunting with Kalle,
but her response came with a warning: "Kalle roams the hunting
grounds where the earth touches the sky. You are too young to
travel that far." Little Bear did not listen to his mother, it was
his dream to be a great hunter, like Kalle. However, he had never
left the den on a cold winter's night.
"A charming book about a mysterious bear that shows up in the right
place at just the right time. His comforting message and his cache
of supplies always solve the problem at hand. The story is very
reassuring on many levels, reiterating the old adage that all's
well that ends well." - reader review God Loves You. Chester Blue
was originally written as a children's chapter book. However, since
its launch it has become an inspirational story for all ages. This
is because, although each short chapter features a different person
encountering God through this blue bear...half of the encounters
involve adults dealing with real-life events such as job-loss and
growing old. The other half deal with common challenges facing
children, such as sibling rivalry. AN INSPIRATIONAL BOOK OF HOPE
FOR ALL AGES. God's love always finds us just in time. No matter
where we are, or who we are, God has a special message of Love for
each of us. What if when you most needed help, a blue bear appeared
with a note from God One night, Miss Millie of Blossom, Ohio turns
her face to the stars and asks God for help. The next day, a
package arrives on her doorstep containing a blue teddy bear and a
very special note. God will meet us where we are... Over the course
of a year, this remarkable blue bear travels across the country,
showing up just when he's needed most. During his journey, Chester
Blue helps a young girl trying to impress her big sisters; helps a
man who has lost his job; saves a sailor caught in a terrible
storm; reunites two constantly fighting brothers suffering from a
terrible case of sibling rivalry; watches a cowboy become a rodeo
clown; and helps a father and daughter after divorce. Each chapter
is short story demonstrating God's love for us in every situation.
God is everywhere. His love can find us anywhere. Whether you are a
child or an adult, God has a very important message for you, too...
God Loves You. Chester Blue is an inspirational book for kids,
adults, parents, families, in other words, everyone.
