Domestic drama directed by Asghar Farhadi which follows a long-separated couple as they finalise their divorce. Ahmad (Ali Mosaffa) returns to Paris from his homeland of Iran at the request of his wife Marie (Bérénice Bejo) who wants to divorce him. When he arrives he finds that his soon-to-be ex-wife has begun a relationship with Samir (Tahar Rahim), a younger man with a child of his own and a hospitalised spouse. While they begin proceedings for their separation, all involved are forced to deal with unresolved issues from their past.

As Malik rises to the challenges he is set, gaining respect from his peers, and with his confidence and power growing, he begins to develop his own plans, placing him on a collision course with his gang boss.
