The last 10 years has seen explosive expansion of the number of
centres performing cardiov- cular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging.
The majority of this expansion has been in the ? eld of adult
ischaemic imaging, but congenital heart disease remains one of the
main indications for CMR. Importantly, the greatly improved
survival of patients with congenital heart disease gives us a
burgeoning adult population living with the sequelae of the disease
(grown-up c- genital heart disease - GUCH). Without previous
experience or formal training, the interpretation of CMR images of
patients with congenital heart disease can be dif? cult. The main
aim of this book is to create a portable resource that offers ef?
cient access to high-quality MR (and where appropriate, CT) images
of the common congenital and structural heart abnormalities. We
hope that by prov- ing key images for each condition and a clear
interpretation of the MR appearances, we will improve the reader's
understanding of the conditions, facilitate their interpretation of
images and optimise the planning of the imaging protocols during
their own practice of congenital CMR. As with any publication from
a single institution, the contents of this book represent our own
practice. We have not written a de? nitive or exhaustive
description of the conditions.
First Published in 1988. Routledge is an imprint of Taylor and
Francis, an informa company.
Embertides is a four-movement suite for organ based on the roughly
equal divisions of the church year - Advent, Lent, Whitsun, and
Michaelmas - which in turn hark back to earlier, secular
traditions. Throughout, there are short references and hints to
plainsong and other hymns relevant to the seasons. Drawing on a
wide range of colours and textures, the composer creates an
evocative and varied suite of pieces, perfectly suited for both
recital and church performance; as such, the work will be welcomed
by a wide range of players.
New technologies are often implemented before their ethical
consequences have been fully understood. In this volume, experts
working in the sciences, arts, and philosophy of technology share
novel perspectives on how we can best identify and navigate the new
ethical crossroads emerging in our information society. With an eye
toward the future, the contributors present an essential and unique
view on the interplay between ethics and modern technology.
The photos in this edition are black and white. One thing that has
become very evident when browsing through the latest rodding
magazines is that there is no shortage of options regarding
suspensions for your rodding project. Various advertisers feature
their latest fancy complete independent set-ups, while car features
cover a combination of both the latest and greatest vs. traditional
styles of suspensions. Which ones are the best? How hard are they
to install, and how much is it going to cost?
In "How to Build Hot Rod Chassis," highly regarded hot rodding
author Jeff Tann covers everything enthusiasts need to know about
designing and building their new chassis and suspension system. It
thoroughly explores both factory and aftermarket frames, modified
factory solid-axle suspensions, and aftermarket independent front
and rear suspension setups. No matter what design a reader may be
considering for his own car, How to Build Hot Rod Chassis delivers
a wealth of information on the pros and cons of all systems
available.
Whether you end up building a traditional or retro rod and stick
with a conventional system, go high-tech and get the latest and
greatest, or decide on a hybrid somewhere in between, How to Build
Hot Rod Chassis will guide you through the process of choosing,
installing, and enjoying your hot rod's suspension.

Doris Betz (b. 1960) is devoted to exploring linear form in her
work. In her drawings she fathoms the depths of the potential of
the line and the possibilities of the material silver, which she
then contorts, turns, rolls and turns again, finally lacquering,
oxidising or patinating with a flame to create the final jewel.
Unforeseen fragile-looking and poetic formations emerge as Betz
overlaps, knots and layers her material, rendering visible her
jewellery's relationship to the vegetal language of natural forms -
a source of inspiration for the artist. This book presents a
selection of her jewellery works together with drawings from 2009
to 2016 for the very first time. With essays by: Monika Fahn, Pravu
Mazumdar, Ira Mazzoni and Olga Zobel.
The cycle of the seasons brings changes to the work in the
countryside and the garden, together with change in the natural
world. The Turning Of The Year looks at these changes, along with
the associated holidays, feast days and customs, to reconnect the
modern world with the seasonal cycle. Included are recipes relevant
to each season and to specific festivities.
Priests in their pastoral ministry encounter heart-breaking
incidents occurring before what is regarded as a normal life-span:
a child with cancer, a road accident, a seriously ill young mother,
a bright student struck down. While this may be some preparation,
when priests and ministers personally experience serious or
terminal illness, they have the additional burden of being in a
public role; of needing to manage outward behaviours and inner
feelings. They live out the difficult questions which others bring
to them, and to which there are no easy answers. Soul Pain (a term
coined by Dame Cicely Saunders) is a moving, articulate and
profound series of reflections on the shock, fear, anger,
desolation, acceptance that serious illness brings, the choices to
be faced and the meaning of healing in such contexts. Theologically
rich and with a depth of wisdom learned at great cost, this book is
full of illuminating insights for all who minister to those with
life-threatening conditions and those who watch and wait. Essential
reading for all in pastoral ministry.

In September of 2003, 21 hand-picked students began attending
classes at SUNY Purchase's prestigious filmmaking conservatory and
set out to earn their Bachelor of Fine Arts. Before the class could
engage in actual film production, the students were assigned the
task of writing a series of short stories. These stories were meant
to sharpen the class's ability to create ideas and see them to
fruition. This book is the result of that class: 23 tales of
undeniable creativity and imagination. 23 tales by 12 authors that
best represents the youthful ambition, idealism, cynicism, and
explosive originality that this group, the next generation of
American filmmakers, has to offer.

In the woollen industry's heyday Gloucestershire had over 200
mills, producing cloth which was transported to markets all over
the world: to Europe, Hudson's Bay, India; it clothed the British
Army and was used for coronations and even the Pope's robes. The
author's previous and much-consulted work, Gloucestershire Woollen
Mills, has long been out of print, making the time ripe for a fresh
appraisal of this fascinating period in history. Wool & Water
traces the origins of the water-powered industry from the late
twelfth century to its demise, with two mills remaining in the
twentieth century. Themes discussed include the organisation of the
'domestic' industry until the mid-eighteenth century; the
development of the factory; fluctuations in trade and, finally,
competition from Yorkshire. Containing previously unpublished
material and unique illustrations from private collections, plus a
comprehensive gazetteer of the county's textile mill sites, Wool
& Water is the ideal book for those interested in the
industrial heritage of Gloucestershire.
