Geosynchronous SAR: System and Signal Processing (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2018): Teng Long, Cheng Hu, Zegang Ding, Xichao Dong,... Geosynchronous SAR: System and Signal Processing (Hardcover, 1st ed. 2018)
Teng Long, Cheng Hu, Zegang Ding, Xichao Dong, Weiming Tian, …
R3,541 Discovery Miles 35 410 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

This book chiefly addresses the analysis and design of geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar (GEO SAR) systems, focusing on the algorithms, analysis, methods used to compensate for ionospheric influences, and validation experiments for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS). Further, it investigates special problems in the GEO SAR context, such as curved trajectories, the Earth's rotation, the 'non-stop-and-go' model, high-order Doppler parameters, temporal-variant ionospheric errors etc. These studies can also be extended to SAR with very high resolution and long integration time. Given the breadth and depth of its coverage, scientists and engineers in SAR and advanced graduate students in related areas will greatly benefit from this book.

In this book, the authors present current research in the study of low-energy physics. Topics discussed in this compilation include nano-structured reflectors for slow neutrons; the low-energy Yang-Mills Gravitational Gauge Theory and its application to astrophysics and cosmology; quantum hall fluids in the presence of topological defects; analytic formulas for small systems of electrons at odd denominator filling factors of the lowest Landau level; application of sapphire in low-energy neutron physics; and a low-energy phenomenological theory of Yang-Mills formulation of gravitation.

Chinese Agricultural Household (Paperback): Tao Zeng, Barry K. Goodwin Chinese Agricultural Household (Paperback)
Tao Zeng, Barry K. Goodwin
R1,675 Discovery Miles 16 750 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

This book deals with the off-farm labor supply of Chinese agricultural households. The first objective explores the relationship between the farm operators' off-farm labor supply and the household's farming efficiency. The theoretical model predicts an inverse relationship between farming efficiency and off-farm labor supply. However, the empirical results show that the agricultural production technical efficiency exhibits no significant effect on off-farm labor supply. There appears to be a surplus of labor in the agrarian sector in China. Restrictions on the movement of labor among regions and in the reallocation of farmland serve to maintain this surplus and thus bring about economic inefficiencies. The second objective investigates the switching nature of the operator's off-farm labor supply depending on the spouse's participation status in off-farm labor markets. The off-farm labor supply behavior of operators with spouses working off-farm exhibits some differences from that of the operators with spouses' not working off-farm. The results support that the agricultural household is a more relevant decision unit for resource allocation than is its individual members.
