Based on historical fact, "George Washington's Boy," written by Ted
Lange, portrays the fight for freedom, the Declaration of
Independence, and the first presidency of the United States from
the viewpoint of one of George Washington's closest confident,
ironically, his slave, Billy Lee. Billy Lee served his master
throughout these monumental times and was privy to the innermost
thoughts and actions of Washington.
Chaos, comedy, and collusion resound when a group of black men
conspire to steal the Liberty Bell before it can be rung on George
Washington's birthday on February 22, 1846. This band of black
folks meets in Philadelphia at the Golden Fleece Tavern and their
plot includes a secretive black barmaid and a female white
abolitionist writer. What makes them think they can do it? How in
the world will they do it? Will the mystery of the Liberty Bell's
famous crack finally be solved? Let Freedom Ring, is based on
historical imagination and combines Lange's signature comedy and
drama as it reverberates issues of change and hope that still
vibrate today.
The inner sanctum of Confederate president Jefferson Davis has been
breached. Information is leaking to the enemy. Who is the spy? No
one is privy to this information except Jefferson's advisors, and
they are beyond repute. Based on a true story, Lady Patriot reveals
an intimate look into the prejudices and patriotism of three ladies
who lived during the Civil War: Varina Davis, Elizabeth Van Lew,
and Mary Bowser. Lady Patriot combines Lange's signature comedy and
drama as it peels away traditional stereotypes prevalent in the
South during the Confederacy.
Ted Lange's comedic play, "Four Queens - No Trump" invites you to
listen in on the bodacious, brazen, and bawdy conversations of four
women who meet every week to play cards. These dynamic, vivacious,
and "down home" women discuss their lives and loves with outrageous
humor as they play the cards they are dealt on the table and in
life.
