This book seeks to fill the information gap on a key emerging real
estate market and demystify the perception that the market in Ghana
and indeed, across sub-Saharan Africa is opaque. Drawing on decades
of experience from within the market, the author presents a
detailed examination of the real estate market in Ghana and its
existing regulatory framework. In doing so, he provides a
justification for its relevance in the subregion. It focuses on
seven thematic areas - land administration, legal perspectives,
market dynamics, investment potentials, market competitiveness,
valuation and compensation. This book will be a useful resource for
students, academia, practitioners, real estate developers,
investors and professional advisors such as valuers, surveyors,
lawyers, accountants, bankers, architects, planners and engineers.
An important feature of this book is the way in which chapters are
self-contained, and yet follow logically one from another. With
this approach, readers can choose a reading path appropriate to
their own specific needs without a loss of continuity.

We live in a world that is ever on the move, as is increasingly
recognised within research on mobilities. Yet studies of mobility
have failed to 'go to sea' with the same enthusiasm as mobilities
ashore. When we consider mobility, we most often examine those
movements that evidently form part of our everyday lives. We forget
to look outwards to the sea. Yet ships have played - and continue
to play - a significant role in shaping socio-cultural, political
and economic life. This book turns our attention to the manifold
mobilities that occur at sea through an exploration of the
mobilities of ships themselves as well as the movements of objects,
subjects and ideas that are mobilised by ships. The Mobilities of
Ships brings together seven chapters that tack through unexplored
waters and move between diverse case studies, including pirate
ships, naval vessels and luxury yachts. In so doing, The Mobilities
of Ships offers a rich insight into the world of shipping
mobilities past and present. This book was published as a special
issue of Mobilities.

'A vital and timely introduction to some of the best books I've
ever read. Perfectly curated and filled with brilliant literature'
Nikesh Shukla 'The ultimate introduction to post-colonial
literature for those who want to understand the classics and the
pioneers in this exciting area of books' Symeon Brown These are the
books you should read. This is the canon. Joan Anim-Addo, Deirdre
Osborne and Kadija Sesay have curated a decolonized reading list
that celebrates the wide and diverse experiences of people from
around the world, of all backgrounds and all races. It disrupts the
all-too-often white-dominated 'required reading' collections that
have become the accepted norm and highlights powerful voices and
cultural perspectives that demand a place on our shelves. From
literary giants such as Toni Morrison and Chinua Achebe to less
well known (but equally vital) writers such as Caribbean novelist
Earl Lovelace or Indigenous Australian author Tony Birch, the
novels recommended here are in turn haunting and lyrical;
innovative and inspiring; edgy and poignant. The power of great
fiction is that readers have the opportunity to discover new worlds
and encounter other beliefs and opinions. This is the Canon offers
a rich and multifaceted perspective on our past, present and future
which deserves to be read by all bibliophiles - whether they are
book club members or solitary readers, self-educators or teachers.

This brief describes the development of a new model for
realistically characterizing solution-diffusion transport
mechanisms in polymeric membranes that are used for separation and
purification of organic solvents. Polymeric membranes used in these
environments, if not selected appropriately, undergo excessive
swelling and compaction resulting in lowered performance or
membrane destruction in the long-term. This brief describes the
relationship between key parameters from a chemical, mechanical and
thermodynamic perspective. Moreover, the authors show how this new
model points membrane manufacturers, scientists, and engineers
towards an understanding of how these key parameters are considered
in (1) designing and manufacturing membranes for the right
application, (2) designing the right test experiments to determine
the long-term membrane behavior in a short time, (3) minimizing the
number of experiments to determine a reliable membrane for an
application and (4) selecting the right membrane with higher level
of certainty. The overall benefits of the model includes saving
money and time. A simplified version of the model is included to
assist the reader.
