2008 reissue of cult classic De Stijl is White Stripes 's second
album released in 2000 and it was recorded on an 8-track analog
tape in Jack's living room. The album title De Stijl is a Dutch
artistic movement founded in 1917. Proponents of De Stijl sought to
express a new utopian ideal of spiritual harmony and order through
pure abstraction and universality by a reduction to the essentials
of form and colour with simplified visual compositions to the
vertical and horizontal directions, using only primary colors with
black and white. This simplistic color continuity is evident on the
White Stripes album covers. 13 tracks.
