Do you still believe in the American Dream? If you answered yes,
this book is designed to help you develop the mental-toughness
needed to make your life and career dreams come true. Let's face
it, dreaming big dreams is easy. The challenge for most of us is to
condition our minds to execute our dreams on a consistent basis.
Why is it important to dream big dreams?" Because, America was
built by big dreamers. We must accept our responsibility as simple
Americans to dream the unthinkable, so our children will live in a
better place. We must continue this 200 hundred year old tradition
of improvement. I believe the American Dream speaks to everyone -
the problem is most Americans choose not to listen. This book will
also assist you in determining your true identity. Most of us live
our lives as actors or actresses on the world stage. But honestly,
who are we? At the end of this book, you will conclude that you are
either an "Eagle" (can-do person) or a "duck" (can't-do person).
Most people are actually ducks in Eagle clothing. After reading
this book, you will begin seeing Eagles and ducks everywhere in our
society. This insight will often shock and surprise you about the
people in your life and the people you currently look up to. Why do
I call myself "the Simple American"? Because I believe that simple
Americans are the fuel that allows this great nation to prosper.
The Eagle Within will illustrate my journey from parking cars to
President and Chief Operating Officer of a $70 million dollar
organization. I will share my 118 Eagle Principles that I believe
and teach in our organization's Eagle Leadership Program .Learn why
I believe 50% of Americans live their lives in a "mental
wheelchair." Learn how I overcame the "shyness disease" and learn
why the "guy on the bridge" is controlling your life. I will also
illustrate and confirm that "your momma was right," not only when
you were young but also throughout your business career, and I will
explain why my heart attack was the best event to occur in my life.
I am confident my story is really the story of most simple
Americans. Let me ask you to ponder one last question. Do you
believe in what I call the Eagle's Creed? The Eagle's Creed states,
"There are two guarantees in life: everyone is going to die and
most people will never live " Please reflect on this statement for
several minutes. This statement is accurate for the majority of
Americans. I hope this book will assist you in fulfilling your
dreams and your American destiny. I believe America needs all
simple Americans to return to the original American values of
self-reliance, pursuit of excellence and freedom. If all Americans
do not reach their full potential, America will never reach her
full potential. We have a very important job to do - let's get
busy. Please contact the "The Simple American" at

This is Tom's second book and illustrates his bizarre, humorous and
emotional ten-year journey in the world of club volleyball. Tom's
three daughters participated in this roller-coaster environment for
several different club teams. When Tom says, "Lunatic Rantings of a
Volleyball Dad," he is not kidding. He loses his composure many
times in the book and relates stories that are not normally
discussed in polite conversation. He humorously takes on everyone
who is associated with club volleyball: The players The coaches The
volleyball officials The volleyball club rules Volleyball
traditions The parents His wife Himself This book is for everyone.
The young athletes will enjoy the book as much as the adults. The
craziness found in club volleyball is probably relatable to all
club sport teams. Enjoy! Tom's favorite volleyball cheer is,
"Mirror, mirror on the wall, pretty girls don't play volleyball so
let's get ugly." I think Tom has taken "ugliness" to a whole new
level.
