Electrocardiography for Health Care Personnel prepares users for a
national ECG certification examination, as well as providing ECG
skills training for health care students and health care personnel
who are interested in mastering additional skills. The text
includes the essential skills needed to perform an ECG, including
anatomy of the heart, basic characteristics, equipment, appropriate
intervention, and other technical applications, such as Holter
monitoring and stress testing. Emphasis throughout the text is
placed on troubleshooting.
In the first anthology of its kind, Thomas O'Brien and Scott Paeth
have gathered unique pieces from across religious perspectives to
illustrate the growing influence and contribution of religion to
the field of business ethics. Events in the recent past make clear
people in business urgently need to focus on the moral dimension of
practices and behaviors. Courses in business ethics are
increasingly more prevalent in business schools and in departments
of philosophy and religious studies, and yet texts for these
courses normally pay scant attention to the much-needed religious
perspective on what constitutes ethical practice and behavior.
O'Brien and Paeth now fill that need with this new text Tackling
such wide-ranging subjects as Jewish environmental ethics, Zen in
the workplace, and Christian social ethics, this text is a valuable
addition to any business ethics course.
Protest has proliferated in the early part of the twenty-first
century, forcing change in political systems and challenging
established patterns of behaviour. The factors driving these
protests range from religion and inequality through to the
effectiveness of the state and its role in protecting the rights of
citizens. The growth in discontent represented by these protests
potentially threatens the stability of the state by raising
questions about the right of governments to govern. Anger and
frustration embodied in many of these actions has resulted in the
growth of support for populist political actors promising
simplified solutions to the complex underlying issues. In this way,
the inability of the state to address the claims of its population
potentially places its continued viability at risk. The cases in
this collection examine a range of protest movements from around
the world, in both democratic and authoritarian political systems,
to provide an overview of contemporary issues and protest forms.
Addressing contemporary protest in this manner is an important task
in supporting our understanding of the root causes of the current
tensions and their possible future effects. This book is a
compilation of articles from a special issue of Contemporary Social
Science with additional papers selected from Contemporary Politics,
Journal of Contemporary China and Democratization.

This volume is the second of a two-volume set designed for use in a
course in applied international corporate finance for managers and
executives. This volume's issue is how uncertain foreign exchange
(FX) rate changes affect a firm's ongoing cash flows and equity
value, and what can be done in terms of hedging this risk using
financial instruments. The accounting implications are also
considered. Numerous examples of real-world companies are used. The
volume contains a hypothetical case that ties the material
together.
