The book deals with the integration of temporal information in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The main purpose of a historical or time-integrative GIS is to reproduce spatio-temporal processes or sequences of events of the real world in a model in such a way as to make them accessible for spatial query, analysis and visualisation. The volume reflects theoretical thoughts on the interrelations of space and time and includes practical examples taken from various fields of application (spatial/environmental analysis, demographics, history, business data warehousing).

Although only a small minority ofthe millions of GIS users on this planet are geographers, it seems that somehow, geographers are a kind ofnatural contact persons for historians, archae- ologists, economists, social scientists or others who are looking for appropriate ways ofworking with spatial data. The Second Philippic was probably distributed as a pamphlet and may well have cost Cicero his life.

Nur eine sorgfaltige Prufung des zu akquirierenden Objektes durch den Kaufer bildet die Grundlage fur eventuelle spatere Inanspruchnahme vertraglicher Garantien und Gewahrleistungsrechte. Um eine kostenadaquate Prufung zu erreichen stellt sich in der Praxis die Frage nach Intensitat und Umfang einer solchen Due Diligence. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird in der vorliegenden Bachelor Thesis die Bedeutung der Financial Due Diligence als Instrument des Risikomanagements erortert. Besondere Beachtung findet dabei die Strukturierung und Minderung etwaiger Akquisitionsrisiken fur den potentiellen Kaufer. Zur Erreichung der Zielstellung werden zunachst die Standards des heutigen Risikomanagements anhand ihrer Zielsetzung, des Risikomanagementprozess sowie der unterschiedlichen Risikoarten charakterisiert. Dies bildet die Basis fur die anschliessende Einordnung der Financial Due Diligence als Teilbereich einer vollstandigen Due Diligence. Insbesondere der Prozess der Kaufpreisbildung sowie die Analyse der Vermogens-, Finanz- und Ertragslage findet besondere Beachtung. Abschliessend wird im 4. Kapitel die Rolle der Financial Due Diligence mit den Standards des Risikomanagements abgeglichen und bewertet. Im Mittelpunkt dabei steht die Erorterung welche Risiken berucksichtigt und welche tendenziell eher vernachlassigt werde
