The study of public policy and the methods of policy analysis are among the most rapidly developing areas in the social sciences. Vor diesem Hintergrund fuhrt der hier vorgelegte Band in die konflikttheoretischen und praktischen Zusammenhange ein, gibt einen Uberblick uber zentrale Umwelt- und Technikkonflikte in Deutschland, reflektiert kritisch anhand von Fallbeispielen die wichtigsten Ansatze zur Konfliktvermittlung bei Umwelt- und Technikkonflikten und macht dabei die Vielfalt der politikwissenschaftlichen Ansatze in diesem Forschungsfeld sichtbar."
Dieser PVS-Sonderband gibt einen breiten UEberblick uber den aktuellen deutschen Forschungsstand zum Verhaltnis von technologischem, politischem und staatlichem Wandel. Vorrangig bezogen auf die deutsche Situation wird einerseits untersucht, wie technologische Faktoren, vermittelt uber ihre Auswirkungen auf das gesellschaftliche und politische Umfeld des Staates, die staatlichen Institutionen durchdringen und die Handlungsmoeglichkeiten des Staates verandern. Andererseits werden als Reaktion auf neue technologische Herausforderungen und neue politische Handlungsbedingungen die vertikale Ausdifferenzierung staatlicher Handlungsebenen im Bereich der Technologiepolitik sowie der Wandel der konkreten Formen der politischen Techniksteuerung behandelt.
