If you share the commonly-held notions about the New Right, which
typically associate it with a reactionary ideology of social and
economic change, then you are in for a surprise: this study - the
first to be carried out from the inside - shows that, at least so
far as its young members are concerned, their core values rest upon
a radical agenda that is explicitly internationalist,
individualist, culturally relativist and secularist. After
examining the social background and political psychology of the
young Libertarians, the author comes to the conclusion that in
adhering to a world view that has more to do with individualism -
or "property-rights anarchism"- than any form of collectivist
ideology, such as Fascism; they represent the antithesis of
traditional Burkean thought. For, while Conservatives have
historically adhered to the authority of religion, prescription,
instinct and communitarianism, Libertarians place their faith in
the authority of reality, reason, mankind and capitalism. As a
school whose epistemology is reason, ethics - self-interest and
politics - and anarcho-capitalism, they represent, so the author
argues, an important post-modern paradigm shift in both
Conservative thought and activism.
There is a growing sense that the "health gap" between socioeconomic groups is getting worse in many countries. To address this gap, conceptual clarity and empirical evidence are needed along with a greater focus on equity in policy-making. This book is designed to present cutting-edge research and policy analysis to a wide non-specialist readership of students, professionals and policy-makers. It brings together in one volume new perspectives on the conceptual foundations of health equity, empirical evidence on the scale and nature of he inequities in health in twelve countries around the world, and assessments of the associated policy developments and their implications for the future. It aims to help build global capacity to measure, monitor and interpret developments in health equity at a national and international level. The in-depth country analyses draw on epidemiology, demography, economics and other fields to approach health inequalities from several different angles. The topics covered range from adolescent livelihoods in Tanzania to the health burden of indigenous peoples in Mexico, from health equity in Japan to the gender gap in life expectancy in Russia. The book is a unique demonstration of global cooperation in bringing together and giving equal weight to work on health equity carried out in the southern and northern hemispheres.
Why KOINE? In the fullness of time, God fulfilled His promise to
send His Son. What made two thousand years ago the right time? The
KOINE Greek Language God's perfect design was to use KOINE Greek
when it was the COMMON language of the world so that every nation
could understand the Right-announcement. More than that, KOINE is
such a precise language, that when studied, one finds, like
knowledge the OT Hebrew, no need to be bound by the endless false
dilemmas, empty arguments, and vain philosophies found among those
that refuse any exodus from their "Egyptianity" into true
Christianity. KOINE facilitates our desire to come out and be
separated from them. In a culture dominated by conversational
ecumenism-It speaks Calvin or Arminius: it's a virtual language of
Ashdod- KOINE stands forever to equip God's out-called people to
remain peculiar, uniquely His, in words and practice: To speak the
language spoken by the martyrs throughout all the durations. KOINE
will teach you the value of your New Testament in the original
language; empower you to meet your responsibility to do your own
word studies, in order that you might know exactly what God
intended to communicate to you and others; and finally, demonstrate
to you that the True and Living God did not leave you as an orphan,
dependent upon the theological traditions, customs, creeds, and
confessions of unnatural parentage. IamKoine.org
