How Many Lives Do You Have is the story of the fourth year of a
fifteen year adventure that takes place largely in the wilderness
areas of the American west. In the summer of 1990 Todd Stuart built
a little hut high in the mountains of northern Utah. Buried in snow
for almost half the year, he has endured the challenges inherent to
the unique lifestyle he chose. He still lives there, he's still
alive, and this is his story. Having survived the first three years
of his self imposed "exile" into the wilderness, Todd decides to
become a backcountry survival guide for troubled teenagers. His
adventures in the Escalalnte wilderness with the 'hoods in the
woods' are emotional and spiritual in nature, but as real as real
gets.
In the summer of 1990, Todd Stuart built a hut high in the
mountains of northern Utah. Buried in snow for half the year, he
has endured the phenomenal challenges inherent to his choice. His
choice required him to ski, bike and hike back and forth six miles
to the local ski area where he worked. In order to pay child
support on ski patroller wages, it was impossible to live
conventionally. Eighteen years later, he still lives there, he's
still alive, and this is his story.
