Sometimes I feel sad. Sometimes it's because I've lost something.
Or because I'm hurt. Other times I don't know why I feel sad. I
just do. Feeling sad is, unfortunately, a part of everyone's life,
and there's not always an easy fix. This touching book helps
explain to children aged 5-11 that they're not alone in feeling
this way, and is especially useful for children who struggle to
express their feelings.
Issue two of Excavator Monthly magazine is character focused, yet
still has plenty for the Mutant Epoch game master to challenge the
players with. Included in this release are such nasty creatures as
the Bloat Creeper, Pipe Worm and Mouther, along with new relics
such as the handy Remote Watcher and the devastating Semi-Automatic
Sniper Rifle. This issue also includes another popular treasure
table, as well as a new character generation method called the
Gambler System, a full color character sheet to copy or download,
plus two more NPCs, Phaydrix the mind waster and Sgt. Cole
Dodgerre, a purist bounty hunter. Featured articles this month are
a discussion on solo play gaming, how PCs can make a cache for
stashing spare or empty relics securely and finally, a huge
selection of Apocalypse Myths for characters, setting background
and NPCs. Even if you aren't using the Outland System game
mechanic, there is plenty here for any post apocalyptic gamer to
bring to the game table. 24 illustrations 40 pages
Researching whether properly structured organizations, at combatant
commands, develop more effective communication strategy is the
purpose of this monograph. Proper structure is defined in current
doctrine and key communication literature. Proper structure
includes access, assessment, and capabilities. Senior military
leaders argue doing the right thing is most important in
communication strategy. This monograph argues that there is more to
communication strategy than just doing the right thing. In order to
analyze the complex issue of effective communication strategy, a
systems approach is used. Effective is defined as educating,
informing, and influencing target audiences to support American
interests. The finding of this monograph is proper structure is
necessary but not sufficient to develop effective communication
strategy.
As WLANs (Wireless Local Area Networks) become increasingly common,
it's becoming vital to be able to test them for proper performance
and to optimize their operation. This book, written by a member of
the IEEE committee that develops WLAN standards, is the first book
addressing that need. It covers test equipment and methods for the
RF (wireless) and physical layers of WLAN, protocols, the
application layer, and manufacturing testing. The emphasis
throughout is on underlying engineering principles along with
modern metrics and methodologies, ensuring this book gives both a
solid theoretical background along with field-proven techniques and
applications.
Much of the subject material is drawn from the author's own
hands-on experience in the field, as an architect and engineer of
WLAN test equipment, and a writer of standards for measuring WLAN
equipment performance. A particularly engaging chapter deals with
manufacturing test, describing some of the different manufacturing
test setups and equipment. A concise introduction to deployment
testing of "hotspots" and WLANs in enterprises is also provided.
*Gives proven techniques for maximizing the coverage area and
performance of wireless networks
*Author's insider position on the IEEE committee developing
standards for WLAN testing ensures timeliness and technical
integrity of the material
*Includes coverage of newer multiple input/multiple output (MIMO)
wireless networks
