Three times Academy Award winning film based on the classic Thomas Hardy novel. Set in 19th Century England where a peasant discovers that his family are descendants from a noble family, the d'Urbervilles. He sends his daughter Tess to live with a rich cousin, Alec d'Urberville. She has a baby by him but it dies in infancy. Tess then runs away and on the way meets a pastor's son, Angel, with whom she falls in love and marries. When she tells Angel about her past he is unable to forgive and goes off to Brazil. Tess then goes back to Alec. But when Angel returns home, Tess kills her lover, Alec, in order to be with the only man she has ever loved, Angel.
Another adventure for the intrepid time traveller. The Doctor (Tom Baker) and Romana (Lalla Ward) are holidaying in Paris when they stumble across the mysterious Count Scarlioni (Julian Glover) to steal the Mona Lisa. With the aid of inept detective Duggan (Tom Chadbon) they discover that the Count already has several Mona Lisas walled up in his cellar - all of them painted by Leonardo Da Vinci - and when the Doctor finds out that Scarlioni is also conducting time experiments he begins to realize that his latest foe is not all that he seems... Due in part to an independent television strike, this story achieved the series' highest ever viewing figures, with the final episode peaking at 16.1 million.
Double bill of made-for-TV supernatural dramas. In 'The Stone Tape' (1972), when scientists working for Ryan Electrics move into their new headquarters, a gothic mansion, they find one room unfinished. Strange noises are heard and the builders are too frightened to complete their work. When the other scientists dismiss such fears as irrational whimsy, only psychically-minded Jill (Jane Asher) senses the dark secret that lurks beneath the building. 'Ghostwatch' (1992) is a fully-scripted drama which imitated the format of a live television broadcast taking place inside a haunted house. The hoax is made all the more convincing thanks to its use of well-known TV presenters Michael Parkinson, Sarah Greene and Mike Smith.

When mercenary Del Grant alerts the Liberator crew to the existence of a new Federation super-weapon, Avon leads an epic battle to avert catastrophe...
The longest 'Doctor Who' story ever. The Doctor (Colin Baker) is put on trial by his people the Time Lords for interference in the affairs of others; three segments of his past and future are presented as evidence. 'The Mysterious Planet' shows the Doctor and Peri (Nicola Bryant) in a battle with a megalomaniac machine on the planet Ravalox, but what are the mysterious 'secrets' it protects? 'Mindwarp' shows the Doctor apparently betraying Peri to the vile Sil (Nabil Shaban) and the Mentors - can the Matrix be falsifying the evidence against the Doctor? In his defence he presents 'Terror of the Vervoids', a future story where the Earth is threatened by evil plant life forms. In the final two episodes, 'The Ultimate Foe', the Doctor learns the truth about his prosecuting counsel, the Valeyard (Michael Jayston), and has to enter the Matrix to battle for his remaining lives. This was Colin Baker's last story as the Doctor.

Avon and Villa, meanwhile, choose to take Orac on an illicit gambling spree. In 'The Keeper', Blake tries to obtain the key to Star One from a tribal chief on the planet Goth. However, Travis has beaten him to it. Finally, 'Star One' sees Blake at last launch his attack on the Federation's headquarters, unaware that an alien fleet is poised to invade.
