Feature drama starring Minnie Driver as a schoolteacher intent on
staging a rock opera version of 'The Tempest'. It is the summer of
1976, and Viv May (Driver) is an enthusiastic young drama teacher
at a Swansea secondary school. With her diaphanous dresses and
progressive attitudes, former actress Viv has her enemies amongst
the school's more conservative staff, and has set her sights on
creating a high-octane fusion of Shakespeare and David Bowie for
this year's school performance. Between rehearsals her adolescent
students pass the hot summer days lounging around the lido,
fighting and falling in love, as their future beyond the safe
confines of school life looms ahead of them.
There has been an increase in women entrepreneurs participating in
the growth of local, regional, national, and global economies.
While these women showcase crucial skills for strategic leadership
and strategy that can advance companies, they face cultural,
educational, social, and political barriers that impede their
development and participation within the global economy. Women
Entrepreneurs and Strategic Decision Making in the Global Economy
is a pivotal reference source that provides vital research on
understanding the value of women entrepreneurs and the strategies
they can use on the economy and examines gender impact on strategic
management and entrepreneurship. While highlighting topics such as
emotional intelligence, global economy, and strategic leadership,
this book is ideally designed for managers, entrepreneurs,
policymakers, academicians, and students.
For years I have wanted to immortalize my thoughts as a handbook
for my loving daughter Jacqui. Having been a polio survivor being
stricken in 1953 at 7 months old, I had to learn much about
survival, caring, adapting, loving, leading, and so much more. As
one of the younger survivors of polio (vaccine came out a few
months after I contracted this deadly and crippling disease) I
naturally learned quickly about "odds" and statistics; which is to
say they're meaningless if you are the one who falls on the wrong
side of probability I have survived many things in life and have
achieved many things in life (polio survivors are known to be over
achievers .... statistically of course). I have learned much along
the way with both my successes and failures. The main thing I
learned is how to beat the odds which turned out to be very simple;
NEVER GIVE UP. This book is a compilation of various notes I want
my daughter Jacqui to remember even when I'm long gone. My style of
writing is free flowing for easy reading and understanding. The
chapters in the book have no particular order be it chronological
or otherwise. Instead they are in the order of my mood and
inspiration at the time I sat down at my keyboard. I write from the
heart as I approach all things in my life. My brain shows me the
options but my heart makes the decision. This has proved to be a
very effective approach and has made me successful in many ways. I
live by a concept that I always knew but the great motivator
Anthony Robbins coined or immortalized the best phrase that
describes it all: "Live with Passion." So, buckle your seatbelts;
put on your reading glasses; relax and enjoy. I waited and thought
about this project for a long time so I hope you learn something
and to my daughter, this is what I leave to you as the history of
your dad and the "guide to life according to Pops."
Grounded in the awareness that many public sector inefficiencies
remain unsolved, Identity in the Public Sector presents a critical
consideration of the interplay between public sector reforms and
organizational changes across a variety of levels. Framing this
issue and its importance within organizational and management
studies, Andrea Tomo considers how organizational change is
translated and experienced at the individual level, exposing why
public employees often resist such projects. Building upon related
literature for a better understanding and management of complex
organizational change initiatives in the public sector, Tomo
provides a more integrated picture of individual identity,
emphasising the influence of cultural and context-specific factors,
as well as their importance in policy-making processes,
particularly their potential for improving the effectiveness of
public administration. Offering insights for public management into
a murky, often complex research area, Identity in the Public Sector
provides a new theoretical and practical approach for the analysis
and interpretation of the intersection between identity and public
enterprises and services.

We now call it The Great Realisation and, yes, since then there
have been many. But that's the story of how it started ... and why
hindsight's 2020. First performed online in response to the
Covid-19 pandemic, Tomos Roberts' heartfelt poem, with its message
of hope and resilience, has been viewed over 60 million times and
translated into over 20 languages. Adapted by Ashley Banjo and
Diversity into a BAFTA-winning dance performance for Britain's Got
Talent! As featured in the official BBC New Years Eve fireworks
spectacular! 'A beautiful book and beautifully illustrated' - Kate
Garraway, Good Morning Britain Written in the form of a bedtime
story, The Great Realisation is a celebration of the many things -
from simple acts of kindness, to applauding the heroic efforts of
our key workers - that have brought us together at a time of global
crisis. It captures, with magical resonance, the thoughts and
feelings of millions in lockdown, as we adapted to a new way of
life, found joy in unexpected places, cast aside old habits and
reflected on what truly matters to us. The Great Realisation is a
timely reminder that, even during our most challenging moments,
there is always hope. Tomos's second book, The World Awaits, was
published in July 2021 and he was commissioned by the Royal British
Legion to write an Armistice Day poem, Alive With Poppies, which he
performed at the Royal Albert Hall in commemoration of 100 years of
the poppy. He wrote a Christmas poem, 'I Actually, Love London' for
BBC London in December 2021. 'This fairytale-style story provides a
springboard for discussion of current events with children, and
presents a more optimistic view of the future in a time where the
outlook often seems bleak' - School Library Journal, US
A fantastical coming-of-age drama based on the critically acclaimed
novel with an anime film! Kokoro is a junior high school
student—but after years of bullying, she’s become so anxious
that she no longer goes to school. One day, she’s pulled through
her full-length mirror into a castle in another dimension by a girl
in a wolf mask. The mysterious girl tells Kokoro and six other kids
that they will compete in a scavenger hunt. If one of them finds a
key that unlocks a secret room, that person will get one wish
granted. As long as they observe the rules of the world, they can
come and go as they please. The seven kids gradually grow closer as
they explore the castle, but the scavenger hunt is never far from
anyone’s mind. After all, only one can win their heart’s
desire.
The purpose of this book is to offer insights into the complex and
often unclear context of public sector management, providing a new
theoretical and practical approach to the analysis and
interpretation of these issues. The book is grounded in the
awareness that the public sector has too often shown
inefficiencies, despite the expensive measures taken, and from
manifold perspectives such as the economic, social, organizational,
and institutional ones, among others. It acknowledges the lack of
behavioral, cultural, and context-oriented research in the field,
thus proposing to innovate the debate and to expand the current
understanding of which organizational features characterize modern
public administrations, what factors influence the predominance of
different models, with a special focus on the Italian setting,
benefiting from a wholly comprehensive innovative methodological
approach. The findings offer key implications for theory, practice,
and policy-making, contending the importance of holistic approaches
to the debate and abandoning pre-constituted schemes to put forth
the relevance of behavioral models. It offers a key message:
contextual-specific and cultural factors influencing individual
behaviors are important and should better influence policy-making
processes, towards "glocalization" in order to improve quality.

The second inspiring picture book from the creators of The Great
Realisation. 'All the things that make life wonderful, all the
colours, sounds and tastes Begin to lose a touch of magic when your
goodness goes to waste.' We all have within us 'potential', an
amount of positivity and goodness that we could add to the world if
we only try. But what if we don't try? What if it all seems too
much and we just feel like staying in bed? As one little boy lies
in bed one morning, not wanting to face the day, it's up to his
older brother to show him the extraordinary potential within him
and how even the smallest of his actions will make the world a
better place . . . Tomos Roberts' sparkling new picture book is a
manifesto for our time - urging us all to come together to build a
brighter future, one small step at a time. Tomos Roberts' pandemic
poem, The Great Realisation, was viewed over 60 million times

In a professional world that is quickly transforming and becoming
increasingly volatile and uncertain, the nature of professional
identity is complex and dynamic. The current literature has
overlooked many issues concerning how professionals react and
behave in the face of threats to their identity and image and there
is a lack of a systemic analysis of the phenomenon of professional
identity crisis. This book contends that a full comprehension of the
dynamics taking place is now paramount from the individual
perspective and provides a new theoretical and practical approach
to the analysis and interpretation of these issues. Providing a
novel understanding, the book delivers an empirical case to explore
professionals' reactions in a context characterised by a sharp
de-professionalisation pattern and ever-expanding regulation,
uncertainty, and external pressures, which constrain and mould
accountants' professional boundaries and activities. This book will
prove a useful read to researchers across organisation studies, as
well as interested professionals.
