Studying the complex physical systems of stellar jets
necessitates the incorporation of nonlinear effects which occur on
a wide variety of length and timescales. One of the primary methods
used to study the physics of jets is numerical simulations that
apply high performance computing techniques. Such techniques are
also required for analysing the huge modern astrophysical
datasets.
This book examines those computing techniques. It is a
collection of the lectures from the fifth and final school of the
JETSET network, "Jets From Young Stars V: High Performance
Computing in Astrophysics." It begins with an introduction to
parallel programming techniques, with an emphasis on Message
Passing Interface (MPI), before it goes on to review grid
technology techniques and offer a practical introduction to Virtual
Observatory. The second half of the book, then, is devoted to
applications of high performance computing techniques, including 3D
radiation transfer, to jet and star formation processes.
Aimed at graduate students in astrophysics, this book presents
state-of-the-art methods, thereby offering interesting new insights
to researchers in the field.

Serial winners and glorious losers, heroes and villains,
trailblazing women, role models and rogues, all are here; so too
are audacious sporting founders, enduring legends and forgotten or
overlooked greats. Through a selection of sixty lives from the
Dictionary of Irish Biography, this book celebrates the diversity
of Irish sporting history. The Dictionary of Irish Biography is a
project of the Royal Irish Academy. It tells the island's life
story through the biographies, at home and overseas, of prominent
men and women born in Ireland, north and south, and the noteworthy
Irish careers of those born outside Ireland. The online edition of
the Dictionary of Irish Biography now features nearly 11,000 lives
and continues to grow. dib.ie
This volume constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the
22nd IFIP WG 1.5International Workshop on Cellular Automata and
Discrete ComplexSystems, AUTOMATA 2016, held in Zurich,
Switzerland, in June 2016. This volume contains 3 invited talks in
full-paper length and 12 regularpapers, which were carefully
reviewed and selected from a total of 23submissions. The papers
feature research on all fundamental aspects of cellular automata
and related discrete complex systems and deal with the following
topics: dynamical, topological, ergodic and algebraic aspects;
algorithmic and complexity issues; emergent properties; formal
language processing; symbolic dynamics; models of parallelism and
distributed systems; timing schemes; phenomenological descriptions;
scientific modeling; and practical applications.
Three feature-length Doctor Who adventures. In 'Doctor Who and the
Silurians' (1970), Jon Pertwee stars as the third Doctor, who is
called to an atomic research station in Derbyshire to investigate a
series of mysterious events. His questions uncover a vicious ring
of in-house saboteurs and something a bit more slimy. In 'The Sea
Devils' (1972), after visiting their old enemy the Master (Roger
Delgado) in his remote island prison, the Doctor (Pertwee) and Jo
learn of several recent accidents at sea, all of which have been
accompanied by reported sightings of strange monsters. The Doctor
discovers that the creatures responsible are the Sea Devils,
acquatic cousins of the Silurians who are out to reclaim the planet
Earth from mankind. In 'Warriors of the Deep' (1983), The Doctor
(Peter Davison), Tegan and Turlough arrive at an underwater base on
an Earth in the future on the brink of Atomic War. Helping to
trigger this war are the planet's original inhabitants, the
Silurians and the Sea Devils, aided by their killer pantomime
horse, the Myrka.
Dusty the Christmas Star is a super duper rhyming Christmas story
about a little star that has no starlight and what he does to find
his light. Dusty is short and sweet, touching and delightful, has a
Christian theme, and brings the message of good deeds to the world.
The illustrators are children which makes this story even more
charming. Ages 3 - 8

Two episodes of the classic sci-fi series featuring the Fifth
Doctor, Peter Davison, and the shape-changing android Kamelion. In
'The King's Demons' (1983), the renegade Time Lord forces Kamelion
(Gerald Flood) to pose as King John in 13th century England.
'Planet of Fire' (1983) sees the Doctor (Davison) and Turlough
(Mark Strickson) arriving in Lanzarote on Earth to investigate the
transmission of an unusual signal that turns out to be emanating
from a mysterious alien artefact.
It's a simple plan for each of them. Cathal wants money, Anto wants
money and to be with Laura, and Laura wants to escape a life of
poverty. Life however is never that simple. The three young
Dubliners slide down the road of improvisedcrime in an effort to
realize their dreams. In a cascade ofclueless effort and bizarre
schemes, the three slip further into crime andthe strange life of
the Irish underworld. Unlike the boys, however, Laura has a plan
for getting out before she gets in over her head. All she has to do
is stay the course until that one big score that will give her a
way out of crime and poverty. Sooner or later they have to get
there, right? Anto and Cathal have it sussed: after all, how
difficult could crime be? The police, their fellow criminals, and
those who would not be conned all contribute to the answer as the
trio and their friends scramble onwards. 'Turlough O'Neill's keen
ear for dialogue and cynical affection for his home country make
Floating down the Liffey a delightful romp through Dublin's grimy
streets, mingling scrupulously realistic description and expression
with the ironic charm of true Irish humour.
South Leinster has a surprising variety of terrain, boasting
canals, blanket bogs, rolling woodlands, golden beaches and
brilliant green pastures interspersed with fields of golden barley.
Quiet roads with excellent surfaces make this beautiful corner of
Ireland perfect for exploring by bike, with some great climbs and
descents, notably in the Slieve Bloom Mountains, adding exciting
challenges. A journey through this picturesque countryside is also
a trip through the ages, with many historical places of interest
along the way. Break your journey with pit stops at round towers,
restored mansions with attractive gardens like Emo Court,
traditional lighthouses such as Hook Lighthouse, or the graves of
great Irish figures like Shackleton and Wolfe Tone. The graded
routes suit all abilities, and are each illustrated with a colour
map, photos, a gradient graph, and key facts and statistics.
Information is also provided on the many natural landmarks and
historical sites en route. Each trip guarantees a terrific day out
for the curious cyclist.

the Death Zone on Gallifrey. There they must battle not only the
Master, but Daleks, Cybermen and Yeti in order to reach the Dark
Tower and discover the Tomb of Rassilon. This special edition
includes new special effects and extra footage not included in the
