Especially with advents in space technology, space debris removal
has become more important then ever. There can be several methods
of removal of space debris. One of the viable options available is
taking proper precautions in satellites and objects being sent up
in to space, such that they can use their own systems in order to
return back to Earth upon completion of their missions or burn up
in the Earth's atmosphere and hence not pose a threat to future
space missions. The main problem in the mission to rid the planet's
boundary of unwanted debris particles lies in the removal of those
particles and objects which do not have the capability of using
their own systems to return to Earth or get burnt up in the Earth's
atmosphere in a short duration of time. Old rocket shells,
satellite components and fragments, make up only a small part of
nearly 16,000 space debris particles larger than 10 centimeters
being constantly monitored by NASA. This book discusses ways of
removing those space debris components, which have completed their
respective missions. This work by Lakshya Datta, edited by Dr. Ugur
GUVEN is a perfect book as a beginners guide to the Fundamentals of
Space Debris.
This is Describes about the Operational Aspects of Combined Cycle
Power Plant, Main concentration is on Performance Analysis and
Thermodynamic aspects of all the sub systems. The effective heat
utilization and accounting of Exergy in the work consumable devices
and work extractable. The improvement aspects of various power
plants based on combined cycle has been discussed. This book
contains the information regarding the working, improving the
efficiency of a combined cycle power plant through exergy analysis.
In the combined cycle power plants, natural gas is used as major
fuel. These plants can achieve higher efficiency in converting fuel
to electricity which makes it possible for relatively high priced
fuel like natural gas to be competitive for intermediate or base
loads
In the advancing world of today, the demand for the clean and
reliable electricity is constantly increasing. The technological
developments in operating nuclear power plants with higher
efficiency and more safety will be possible with gas cooled
reactors. Handling gas cooled reactors under critical conditions is
more effective than conventional nuclear reactors. The capacity
addition is only possible with advanced nuclear reactors. This book
will demonstrate various aspects of Nuclear power plant design with
gas cooled reactors
The two of the largest developments in the 20th century have been
the invention of spacecraft, and the invention of nuclear power as
a source of long lasting energy. Now, both technological fields
have grown immensely to structure the technology of our world.
These two fields are intertwined, as the future of space
exploration depends on the availability of nuclear power. One of
the most important requirements of a space flight mission is to be
able to fly to furthest reaches of the universe. In fact, flying
anywhere in our Solar System besides the moon will pose a
considerable challenge as the distances that need to be travelled
are great. The various means of chemical propulsion in spacecraft
do not have the necessary high specific impulse and velocity to
reach these long distances. But, with the availability of nuclear
power, spacecrafts will have the thrust and the necessary power for
exploration of interstellar distances. Nuclear propulsion poses the
way for exploring our solar system and it provides the means for
interstellar exploration. You can find contemporary techniques of
nuclear space propulsion in this book and advanced futuristic
nuclear space propulsion methods.
