Manual of Small Public Water Supply Systems presents current concepts and practices affecting water treatment, financing, management, community involvement in water supply, institutional support, and development of human resources for improved operations and management of water supplies. Information on ground water, surface water, and SDWA requirements is also provided. In short, everything you need to run your small water treatment facility can be found in this book. Material is presented in a thorough, easy-to-read format and a complete bibiliography is included. Fully illustrated, Manual of Small Public Water Supply Systems will soon be dog-eared with use.
This book, generated from several EPA documents, initially covers the legal disposal of solvents, but suggests several alternatives and possible ways to reduce the amount of solvents left over during manufacturing processes.
This book discusses drinking water treatment technologies that address contaminants and contaminant categories regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act and its 1986 amendments. It covers both established and emerging technologies needed to comply with the new regulations of 1986 amendment.
Provides information on the application of point-of-use (POU), and point-of-entry (POE) systems for treating drinking water. Covers administrative and technical aspects of utilizing POU/POE systems to solve small community as well as individual drinking water problems.

Contains 87 currently available Pesticide Fact Sheets issued by the USEPA, at a cost far below the cost of purchasing individual fact sheets. Each listing includes a description of the chemical use patterns and formulations, scientific findings, a summary of the Agency's regulatory position/rationale, toxicology, and major data gaps. The Fact Sheets cover more than 430 trade-named pesticides. The book also has Indexes of Common Names, Generic Names, and Trade Names.
Extensive coverage of tank systems for storing hazardous waste, including design and installation; secondary containment systems; release detection; controls for preventing spills; inspections; response to large leaks and spills; and procedures for tanks that contain or treat ingnitable, reactinve and incompatible wastes.
The book provides state-of-the-art information on removal, recovery, treatment, and disposal of mercury and arsenic wastes, based on a workshop held in Alexandria, Virginia in August 1992. The goals of the workshop were: 1) to examine the fundamentals and analytical issues related to mercury and arsenic compounds; 2) to disseminate information on the state of practice of source reductiontechnologies that recover or remove mercury and arsenic from industrial wastes'and recycling or reuse processes; and 3) to discuss existing and emerging technologies that treat industrial wastes or contaminated soil and water, and the storage and disposal of treated wastes. The book is presented in two parts Mercury and Arsenic and contains extended summaries of papers presented at the workshop. The areas covered are fundamentals, analytical techniques/characterization; removal, recovery, and reuse; and treatment, storage, and disposal.
Part I is a supplement to the EMSL-Cincinnati publication ""Methods
for the Determination of Metals in Environmental Samples"" and was
prepared to revise and place in the Environmental Monitoring
Management Council (EMMC) format certain spectrochemical methods
used for metals.
On March 28, 2014 the Obama Administration released a key element called for in the President's Climate Action Plan: a Strategy to Reduce Methane Emissions. The strategy summarizes the sources of methane emissions, commits to new steps to cut emissions of this potent greenhouse gas, and outlines the Administration's efforts to improve the measurement of these emissions. The strategy builds on progress to date and takes steps to further cut methane emissions from several sectors, including the oil and natural gas sector. This technical white paper is one of those steps. The paper, along with four others, focuses on potentially significant sources of methane and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the oil and gas sector, covering emissions and mitigation techniques for both pollutants. The Agency is seeking input from independent experts, along with data and technical information from the public. The EPA will use these technical documents to solidify our understanding of these potentially significant sources, which will allow us to fully evaluate the range of options for cost-effectively cutting VOC and methane waste and emissions.
