This contributed volume presents state-of-the-art advances in
logistics theory in various fields as well as case studies. The
book reports on a number of recently conducted studies in the
Dinalog and the EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr, thus bridging the
gap between different perspectives of theoretical and applied
research. A selection of theoretical topics, practical examples,
case studies and project reports is presented in this volume. The
editors carefully selected contributions from a wide variety of
projects, which were carried out in both the Dinalog cluster and
the Effizienzcluster LogistikRuhr. The contributions are grouped in
five main sections, each representing key domains in the evolution
of logistics and supply chain management: sustainability, urban
logistics, value chain management, IT-based innovation, knowledge
management. This book is intended for both researchers and
practitioners in the field of logistics and supply chain
management, to serve as an important source of information for
further research as well as to stimulate further innovation.
This contributed volume contains the selected and reviewed papers
of the 2nd Interdisciplinary Conference on Production, Logistics
and Traffic (ICPLT) 2015, Dortmund, Germany. The topical focus lies
on economic, ecological and societal issues related to commercial
transport. The authors are international experts and the paper
collection presents the state-of-the-art in the field, thus making
this book a valuable read for both practitioners and researchers.
The "EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr" was a winner in the Leading
Edge Science Cluster competition run by the German federal Ministry
of Education and Research. The mission and aim of the
"EffizienzCluster LogistikRuhr" is to facilitate tomorrow's
individuality - in the sense of individual goods supply, mobility,
and production - using 75 percent of today's resources. Efficiency
- both in economical and ecological terms - is enabled by
state-of-the-art and innovative logistical solutions including
transportation, production and intralogistics. These proceedings
"Efficiency and Logistics" give first answers from 27 research
projects as an insight into the current state of research of
Europe's leading research and development cluster in logistics and
as a contribution to the discussion on how logistics as a science
can help to cope with foreseeable resource shortage and
sustainability as global challenges.
The series of Interdisciplinary Conferences on Production,
Logistics and Traffic (ICPLT) address the research community as
well as practitioners in these fields with special attention to
links and interfaces between the three disciplines. The fourth
ICPLT in particular deals with technology from intralogistics to
automated trucking driving as well as the societal aspects of
commercial transport. To contribute to a high-level and beneficial
exchange between authorities in politics and municipalities with
researchers and practitioners in production and logistics
management the ICPLT has asked for contributions from the three
disciplines to better understand innovative technologies, best
practises and latest results. These contributions have been
evaluated and selected based on a double-blind review process to
become part of this book. It comprises 21 contributions examining
trends and challenges for commercial transport as the essential
link for production, logistics and society. Therefore, innovative
technologies and strategies are presented and discussed to better
understand the interdependencies, conflicts of interest and to
develop feasible solutions. Topics * Simulation & Optimization
in Production and Logistics * Freight Transport Demand Modelling *
Intralogistics & Logistics Facilities * Policy & Human
Factors * Production & Maintenance * Supply Chain Management *
Sustainable Logistics & Energy Target Groups * Representatives
of public authorities, municipalities & politics * Actors of
sectoral, transport & spatial planning * Actors of production
& logistics * Researchers in the disciplines production,
logistics, transport & spatial planning

Das Handbuch der Verkehrslogistik stellt die logistischen
Probleme des Guterverkehrs umfassend und systematisch dar.
Entwicklungstrends im Verkehr werden ebenso behandelt wie
Logistiksysteme einzelner Branchen und der Verkehrswirtschaft
insgesamt. In der Neuauflage werden erstmals ausgewahlte
internationale Verkehrsmarkte und Aspekte des Wirtschaftsverkehrs
behandelt.
