Livestock raisers and healers throughout the world have traditional ways of classifying and preventing or treating common animal diseases. Many of their "ethnoveterinary" practices offer viable alternatives to conventional Western-style veterinary medicine - especially where the latter is unavailable, unaffordable, unreliable, or inappropriate.
