The academic study of religion is undergoing great changes in response to globalization. Just as sociologists now find it necessary to think in terms of "multiculturalism," so religion scholars and theologians today must work in the context of "multireligiosity." Globalization is leading not only to multiethnic societies but also to plurality in religions and worldviews. Theology and the Religions: A Dialogue offers the first sustained analysis of the trend toward multireligiosity and its implications for the study of religion. Drawing on the resources of cultural analysis, religious studies, and theology, an international slate of thirty-seven scholars explores the relation of multiculturality and multireligiosity, the need for interreligious dialogue, and the possibilities for a "theology of religions." This groundbreaking work is supported by case studies of various religious traditions in diverse cultures from around the world. Offering an engaging, wide-angle view of religion worldwide, Theology and the Religions makes a vital contribution to our understanding of the forces shaping the future of religious and social life. David Cronenberg directs this drama based on the relationship between the two founding fathers of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. The film, which draws from both the stage play, 'Taking the Cure', by Christopher Hampton and the 1993 book, 'A Most Dangerous Method', by John Kerr, also portrays Jung's sexual affair with one of his female patients. Set in early 20th century Europe, the film traces the intense personal and professional relationship between Freud (Viggo Mortensen) and his protégé, Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender). When married family man Jung takes in beautiful young Russian patient Sabina Spielrin (Keira Knightley) for treatment at his clinic in Switzerland, she quickly becomes his muse and the two soon embark on a passionate sadomasochistic affair. Meanwhile, Freud and Jung's views and theories are developing in opposing directions, eventually leading to an insurmountable rift between the two.

Travelling with only the clothes they are wearing, a small cart of scavenged food and a pistol with two bullets as protection, they struggle to survive in the ravaged landscape, encountering a few other desperate survivors along the way.
