In this research work, synthesis of Schiff bases was carried by simple synthetic route. In the first step, the synthesis of dialdehyde 4, 4'-(propane-1, 3-diylbis (oxy)) dibenzaldehyde was done through simple reaction, from which three products were obtained and the desired dialdehyde was isolated by column chromatography. Using this dialdehyde, a series of pharmacologically important Schiff bases were synthesized.
Apolipoproteins B/A1 are protein components of antherogenic and non antherogenicparticles. At the moment, measurement of LDL and HDL in various combinations is in practice for diagnosis of atherosclerotic CAD. But studies have proved that measurement of their protein components is much better, cost effective, error free and standardize. the current cross sectional analytical study has confirmed that Apo B/A1 ratio is much better biochemical indicator and people with obesity, high hip to waist ratio and other known risk factors for CAD can be better identified for future risk of CAD by measuring their Apo B/A1 ratio specially in men, however value 1.8 rather than 0.9 can be more useful. Therefore all old age men with known risk factor must immediately be monitored and given lipid lowering drugs for prevention of developing CAD.
The story in this book is about a biologically potent new ligand monobutylphthalate which has been synthesized by the ring opening reaction of phthalic anhydride with butanol using dean stalk trap. Eight transition metal complexes have been synthesized from this novel ligand in 1:1 and 2:1 stoichiometry. The geometry of the resulting complexes was proposed through IR spectroscopy. Ligand and complexes were than subjected to various bacteria and fungi in order to establish their biological activity. The story in this book is about a series of 1-(2- methoxyphenyl)-3-pivaloyl thiourea. substituted guanidine which were synthesized in good yield by condensation reaction of 1-(2-methoxyphenyl)-3- pivaloyl substituted thiourea with different aromatic amines by using HgCl2 as guanilating agent. These guanidines have a very high tendency to coordinate with Cu (II). All the spectroscopic results indicate that guanidines act as bidentate ligands through oxygen and nitrogen atoms. The products were characterized by using FT-IR, NMR (1H, 13C) and magnetic susceptibility techniques. The guanidines and their copper complexes were also subjected to various microorganisms in order to establish their bactericidal activity. In short this book is very much beneficial both for bigginers and for higher research scholars.

Mannich bases are very important and constructive compounds in organic synthesis, especially their role in biochemistry and natural products is of capital importance. A lot of work is going on over the synthesis, characterization and investigation of bioactivity of these compounds. In The present communication some novel Mannich bases derived from various aromatic aldehydes and aromatic amines with 2- butanone are reported with their biological role. The surprising spectra results showed some Schiff base formation along with the Mannich bases and this eventually establish a new method for the preparation of Schiff bases through acid catalyzed reaction first time. The novelty and biological role of these Mannich and Schiff bases are also reported here in this communication.
