This workbook accompanies a textbook which covers all the topics included in the Primary Mathematics syllabus for the Caribbean countries and is designed to prepare pupils for the Common Entrance Examination. It is also suitable for less able pupils who are in the early stages of the secondary-school course. Each of the 25 papers and 2 test papers in the workbook consists of 50 questions, and each test consists of 100 questions. Each paper contains a variety of problems based on topics from the textbook and they are graded with approximately the same degree of difficulty. It is intended that two papers, followed by corrections, should be done each week and that the two test papers should be done at a suitable time just leading up to the Common Entrance Examination. However, the workbook should be used only after the pupils have completed most of the new topics from the textbook, a convenient time being at the beginning of the second term. Also available is a separate volume of teacher's notes and answers.

The 26 exercises and four tests in this mathematics workbook for Caribbean schools are designed to reinforce the exercises in "New Common Entrance Mathematics". Each test consists of 100 questions similar to those which are set in the Common Entrance Examination. The book can be used by parents who would like to assist their children at home, and by teachers who give extra tuition. It can also be used as a foundation for pupils beginning a secondary-school course. A separate answer book, with many worked solutions, is available for teachers and parents.

Covering all the topics included in the Primary Mathematics syllabus for the Caribbean countries, this textbook, and the corresponding workbook, are designed to prepare pupils for the Common Entrance Examination. They are also suitable for less able pupils who are in the early stages of the secondary-school course. Some of the topics will be new to the pupils, and the teacher should begin with these. The remaining topics should have been covered earlier in normal class work, and all of these should be revised during school time in preparation for the examination. The workbook forms an integral part of the course, and also available is a separate volume of teacher's notes and answers.
