Atomically dispersed metallic materials (ADMMs) are the most
advanced materials used in energy conversion and storage devices to
improve their performance for portable electronics, electric
vehicles, and stationary power stations. Atomically Dispersed
Metallic Materials for Electrochemical Energy Technologies aims to
facilitate research and development of ADMMs for applications in
electrochemical energy devices. It provides a comprehensive
description of the science and technology of ADMMs, including
material selection, synthesis, characterization, and their
applications in fuel cells, batteries, supercapacitors, and
H2O/CO2/N2 electrolysis to encourage progress in commercialization
of these clean energy technologies. Offers a comprehensive
introduction to various types of ADMMs, their fabrication and
characterization, and how to improve their performance Analyzes,
compares, and discusses advances in different ADMMs in the
application of electrochemical energy devices, including commercial
requirements Describes cutting-edge methodologies in composite ADMM
design, selection, and fabrication Summarizes current achievements,
challenges, and future research directions Written by authors with
strong academic and industry expertise, this book will be
attractive to researchers and industry professionals working in the
fields of materials, chemical, mechanical, and electrical
engineering, as well as nanotechnology and clean energy.
This book highlights principles and applications of electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC). After introducing the basic concepts, research
progress, standardizations and limitations of EMC, the book puts
emphasis on presenting the generation mechanisms and suppression
principles of conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise,
radiated EMI noise, and electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS)
problems such as electrostatic discharge (ESD), electric fast
transient (EFT) and surge. By showing EMC case studies and solved
examples, the book provides effective solutions to practical
engineering problems. Students and researchers will be able to use
the book as practical reference for EMC-related measurements and
problem- solution.
With China becoming a major force in steel research and
development, this book highlights the work of a group from the
Chinese Academy of Sciences, led by the first four authors. This
group has the ideal knowledge base for writing this updated book on
heat-resistant steels. The fifth author, Sha, based in the UK, has
been collaborating with the Chinese group since 2009 and is the
lead or sole author of four research books, all published in
English. The last book, “Steels: from materials science to
structural engineering,” was published by Springer in 2013.
Within two months of its publication, researchers at the University
of Science and Technology Liaoning had requested translation of the
book into Chinese. Springer obliged, and the Chinese version was
published by the Metallurgical Industry Press, Beijing, in August
2014. Sha has organized and completed the writing of the proposed
book, though the main research was done in China.
This book deals with the SLF/ELF wave propagation, an important
branch of electromagnetic theory. The SLF/ELF wave propagation
theory is well applied in earthquake electromagnetic radiation,
submarine communication, thunderstorm detection, and geophysical
prospecting and diagnostics. The propagation of SLF/ELF
electromagnetic waves is introduced in various media like the
earth-ionospheric waveguide, ionospheric plasma, sea water, earth,
and the boundary between two different media or the stratified
media. Applications in the earthquake electromagnetic radiation and
the submarine communications are also addressed. This book is
intended for scientists and engineers in the fields of radio
propagation and EM theory and applications. Prof. Pan is a
professor at China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation in
Qingdao (China). Dr. Li is a professor at Zhejiang University in
Hangzhou (China).

In our world of information overload, there is an increasing
struggle to keep the main thing the main thing. Fundamental OSCE
Guide in Ophthalmology is a concise study guide presented in a
direct, exam style question and answer format, illustrated with
high quality clinically relevant photographs tailored to medical
students, nurses, optometrists and residents in their early
ophthalmology training. This book provides invaluable guidance to
readers in presenting their answers in a logical, succinct and
elegant manner. The style and format have been intentionally
designed to simulate examination conditions and to provide readers
with ample practice in preparation for the
examinations.Ophthalmology is a very specialized field with many
textbooks providing a wealth of information. Exposure to
ophthalmology is limited in most undergraduate interactions to a
few weeks at best. With a shortage of time, gaining a good
understanding of what is important is overwhelming. This book helps
to streamline and focus knowledge of readers in understanding the
essential conditions in ophthalmology.Various other texts on
ophthalmology are often in prose and covers a wide range of topics,
including the esoteric conditions. To the untrained eye, it is
difficult to discern what should be focused on. Students are often
times excited about knowing rare conditions and spend precious time
and effort remembering details of these conditions without a strong
foundation of the more common conditions seen day to day. This
books not only highlights the important conditions, it is
structured to simulate examination conditions and can be used as a
self-testing tool.

Practical Guide to VIVA and OSCE in Ophthalmology Examinations is
an essential study guide presented in a direct, exam-style
question-and-answer format. It combines detailed explanations with
high quality clinical photographs tailor-made to help readers ace
specialist oral examinations (MMed, MRCS, FRCS, FRCOphth, FAMS,
FRANZCO).Co-authored by ophthalmology trainees who took the final
MMed and FRCOphth (Oral) in 2016 and 2017, this is a book written
by trainees, for trainees, with prominent author contribution by
Prof Wong Tien Yin. This book provides invaluable guidance to
readers in presenting their answers in a logical, succinct and
elegant manner.Practical Guide to VIVA and OSCE in Ophthalmology
Examinations aims to complement the book titled The Ophthalmology
Examinations Review by Prof Tien Yin Wong to guide candidates onto
the path of success in examinations. This book illustrates the
answering techniques employed during examinations, utilizing
clinical photographs accompanied by a full template answer script
of various high yield conditions. The style and format has been
intentionally designed to simulate examination conditions and to
provide candidates with ample practice in preparation for the
examination. Most major ophthalmic degrees require trainees to take
and pass an oral ophthalmic exam. This book fills a significant
void in the market for ophthalmic training, where texts combining
clinical photos and actual exam answering techniques are severely
lacking. Readers will be able to follow the answering techniques
and examples provided within the book so as to better cope with the
clinical exams.
