This book addresses the basic theory of criminal procedure in China, together with recent reforms. Balancing the powers of public security and judicial organs with the rights of individual citizens, it assesses the nature of Chinese criminal proceedings. In the basic theoretical research section, the author, drawing on the latest findings from the legal community, systematically and comprehensively presents the current trends, main research topics and the main problems that should be explored in future research into criminal procedure law in China; further, the author explains the basic thinking behind the revision of criminal procedure law, and the allocation of judicial resources in criminal procedure and criminal justice. The policy, basic theory and operation problems of judicial power, procuratorial power, police power, defense power and judicial reform are subsequently explained and evaluated. The general writing style used is intentionally straightforward, making the book easily accessible for the readers. Based on the author's substantial working experience in the area of criminal law, it offers a highly intuitive reading experience.
Thermal Energy Waste Recovery Technologies and Systems comprehensively covers thermal energy recovery technologies and systems. It considers thermal sources, working principles, products, application status, prospects, and challenges. In an effort to achieve energy security, carbon neutralization, and sustainable development, the book discusses waste recovery from thermal energy technologies and systems from varying temperatures. The book features case studies of advanced multi-generation systems for different industrial applications. The book is intended for senior undergraduate and graduate mechanical engineering students taking courses in thermal energy, energy systems, and renewable energy, as well as researchers studying thermal energy utilization, low-carbon technologies, thermal dynamic analysis, and energy system design.
Fortune has finally smiled on Bei Liu and his brothers, but it will take more than luck for them to fulfill the oath they swore. Now, with the help of a mysterious but brilliant ally, the battle lines are being drawn, and the era of the three kingdoms is about to begin.

Advances in Spectroscopic Monitoring of the Atmosphere provides a comprehensive overview of cutting-edge technologies and monitoring applications. Concepts are illustrated by numerous examples with information on spectroscopic techniques and applications widely distributed throughout the text. This information is important for researchers to gain an overview of recent developments in the field and make informed selections among the most suitable techniques. This volume also provides information that will allow researchers to explore implementing and developing new diagnostic tools or new approaches for trace gas and aerosol sensing themselves. Advances in Spectroscopic Monitoring of the Atmosphere covers advanced and newly emerging spectroscopic techniques for optical metrology of gases and particles in the atmosphere. This book will be a valuable reference for atmospheric scientists, including those whose focus is applying the methods to atmospheric studies, and those who develop instrumentation. It will also serve as a useful introduction to researchers entering the field and provide relevant examples to researchers and students developing and applying optical sensors for a variety of other scientific, technical, and industrial uses.
In this paper a regularized spectral estimation formula and a regularized iterative algorithm for band-limited extrapolation are presented. The ill-posedness of the problem is taken into account. First a Fredholm equation is regularized. Then it is transformed to a differential equation in the case where the time interval is {bf R}. A fast algorithm to solve the differential equation by the finite differences is given and a regularized spectral estimation formula is obtained. Then a regularized iterative extrapolation algorithm is introduced and compared with the Papoulis and Gerchberg algorithm. A time-frequency regularized extrapolation algorithm is presented in the two-dimensional case. The Gibbs phenomenon is analyzed. Then the time-frequency regularized extrapolation algorithm is applied to image restoration and compared with other algorithms.
