Chemical peeling is a technique used to improve the appearance of
the skin that is typically performed on the face, neck or hands. In
this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin that
causes it to "blister" and eventually peel off. The new,
regenerated skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old
skin (American Society for Dermatologic Surgery). This book
is a practical guide to chemical peel processes for dermatologists.
Divided into 41 sections, the text begins with an overview of the
history and classification of chemical peels, histology of skin and
wound healing, basic chemistry and patient assessment and
preparation. The following chapters cover numerous types of
chemical peel treatments for a variety of disorders, and the book
concludes with discussion on peel treatment results amongst
patients of different ethnicities and skin tones. Â Edited by
internationally recognised specialists in the field of dermatology,
the book is highly illustrated with nearly 350 clinical photographs
and tables to enhance learning. Key points Practical guide to
