Feministinnen warfen ihm vor, er argumentiere einseitig und vernachlassige die Publikationen der Gender Studies. Vor allem, so ein Einwand, ube Bourdieu Kritik ohne keinerlei Perspektive aufzuzeigen, wie die mannliche Herrschaft zu uberwinden sei. Leider konnte der Autor nicht massgeblich die ausgelosten Diskussionen beeinflussen, da er bereits im Januar 2002 verstarb. Pierre Bourdieu schrieb zweifellos ein wichtiges Buch. Diese Arbeit beansprucht nicht fur sich vollstandig und umfassend zu sein. Im weiteren Verlauf werde ich Lemkes Theorie nur an Hand des Begriffs Bevolkerung untersuchen.
