The book provides complete coverage of the classical methods of
statistical analysis. It is designed to give students an
understanding of the purpose of statistical analyses, to allow the
student to determine, at least to some degree, the correct type of
statistical analyses to be performed in a given situation, and have
some appreciation of what constitutes good experimental design.
* Examples and exercises contain real data and
graphical illustration for ease of interpretation
* Outputs from SAS 7, SPSS 7, Excel, and Minitab are
used for illustration, but any major statistical
software package will work equally well.
* Data sets are furnished on CD included in the text
Statistical Methods, Fourth Edition, is designed to introduce
students to a wide-range of popular and practical statistical
techniques. Requiring a minimum of advanced mathematics, it is
suitable for undergraduates in statistics, or graduate students in
the physical, life, and social sciences. By providing an overview
of statistical reasoning, this text equips readers with the insight
needed to summarize data, recognize good experimental designs,
implement appropriate analyses, and arrive at sound interpretations
of statistical results.
William J Wilson, The Christian School in Secular Society, BOOK
SUMMARY. In this world, according to Scripture, there are two
distinct kingdoms. One is the Kingdom of Grace made up of "the
people of the light" and the other is the Kingdom of Nature made up
of "the people of this world." The Kingdom of Grace is an eternal
kingdom with interests that transcend this world. The Kingdom of
Nature focuses only on this world. Schools are powerful instruments
that can be used to reflect the interests of either kingdom. In a
society that has become secularized there is an urgent need for
Christians to increase their efforts to promote, establish and
maintain schools that will accurately reflect who they are and
where they are going. The Kingdom of Nature has taken full
advantage of schools to promote humanistic naturalism. The Kingdom
of Grace needs to take equal advantage of schools to promote a
biblical understanding of life within the context of the highest
spiritual and academic standards.
