Stu (Martin) is a successful business executive on the brink of retirement. Brad (Black), the youngest of the three, works as a computer programmer but lacks direction and focus in his life. Meanwhile, the obsessive and unscrupulous Kenny (Wilson) will stop at nothing to hold onto his title of World's Greatest Birder. As they travel the length and breadth of North America as participants of the 'Big Year' competition, in which birders compete to spot the greatest number of bird species in the United States over the course of one year, the three men discover as much about themselves and each other as they do about America's bird population.

The remarkable true story of a young Billy Graham and his best friend who walked away from the faith. We all know how the story ends but how did it begin? Before he
became a household name, and "America's Pastor," he was simply
known as Billy. When he wasn't playing baseball, he was discovering
his love for Christian ministry. His best friend, Charles
Templeton, was already on track to be a highly successful
evangelist and the two young men began strategizing on how to win
the world for Christ. That plan takes a drastic turn, however, when
Templeton deserts the faith and becomes an atheist. The impact of
this decision on a young Billy Graham is immeasurable and
agonizing. Charles would later become the great intellectual
architect for agnosticism and atheism. Billy would become the
single greatest messenger for the Christian Gospel. It is one of
the great untold dramas between friends - Atheism vs Christianity,
betrayal and hope.

We're called to be like Jesus, not like each other - so why are most Western churches predominantly middle class? Could it be that we're reaching out to people in poverty, but struggling to connect them into church life? Natalie Williams and Paul Brown know all too well that those saved from working-class backgrounds often find themselves discipled effectively - but into middle classism rather than authentic Christianity. Drawing on their own experiences, and mixing theory with practical application, they explore the invisible divides that prevent churches from becoming places of true inclusion and keep poor and working-class people on the edges of faith. Packed full of surprising insights and helpful advice, Invisible Divides will change the way you see church life. Essential reading for anyone concerned with the class divide within the church, it will challenge you to look at the ways in which we inadvertently exclude, alienate and offend people who aren't like us, and equip you to start working towards making church a more open, inclusive space for everyone. Jesus calls for us all to follow him, no matter our background; together, we can break down the invisible divides between us so that people from all walks of life can come to know Christ and find family in our churches.
This book examines the increasing significance of DNA profiling for crime investigation in modern society. It focuses on developments in the UK as the world-leader in the development and application of forensic DNA technology, and in the construction of DNA databases as an essential element in the successful use of DNA for forensic purposes. The book uses data collected from funded research into police uses of the UK National DNA Database (NDNAD) to describe the relationship between scientific knowledge and police investigations. It refers to some of the major UK criminal cases in which DNA evidence has been presented and contested. Chapters in the book explain the scientific developments which have enabled DNA profiling to be applied to criminal investigation, the ways in which the state has directed this, and how genetic technology has risen to such preeminence; how DNA evidence moved from its use in individual prosecutions to a major role in intelligence led policing, and saw the de

The contributors look at the underlying causes for the disorders, such as bulimia and anorexia, lead to a normal life with the help of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. In addition, this collection takes into account the profound effects eating disorders have, not only on the patients, but on their immediate family and friends as well. 'Many cases describe the anxieties and strategies of defence used against feelings of dependence and the risk of accepting from another. This is a core theme in both volumes and is the principle idea behind the paradoxical title, The Generosity of Acceptance.

This book examines and analyses the connections between gastronomy, tourism and the media. It argues that in the modern world, gastronomy is increasingly a major component and driver of tourism and that destinations are using their cuisines and food cultures in marketing to increase their competitive advantage. It proposes that these processes are interconnected with film, television, print and social media. The book emphasises the notion of gastronomy as a dynamic concept, in particular how it has recently become more widely used and understood throughout the world. The volume introduces core concepts and delves more deeply into current trends in gastronomy, the forces which shape them and their implications for tourism. The book is multidisciplinary and will appeal to researchers in the fields of gastronomy, hospitality, tourism and media studies.
