This is a compilation of papers presented at the Information System Concepts conference in Marburg, Germany. The special focus is consolidation and harmonisation of the numerous and widely diverging views in the field of information systems. This issue has become a hot topic, as many leading information system researchers and practitioners come to realise the importance of better communication among the members of the information systems community, and of a better scientific foundation of this rapidly evolving field.

Der Band dokumentiert die Beitr ge von Wissenschaftlern aus den Bereichen Informatik, Biologie und Philosophie zu einer Tagung, die sich mit der Bedeutung von Begriffen befasste, die vor allem in der neuesten biologisch-genetischen Forschung verwendet werden.

KoeffIzienten vorgestellt. Mit der Diskussion der Wellendigitalfilter und ihrer Realisierung bildet Kapitel 9 den Abschluss. Der Thxt ist als einfuhrendes Lehrbuch konzipiert. Manche theoretischen Grundlage- z.B. z-Transformation, Abtasttheorem oder Grundzuge der Signaltheorie - sind bewusst knapp behandelt oder ganz weggelassen. Ihnen ist in anderen Banden der gleichen Reihe (Bohme, 1993; Fettweis, 1990b; Kammeyer und Kroschel, 21992) breiterer Raum gewidmet. Uber die im Thxt vermittelten Kenntnisse hinaus will das Buch auch zum Weiterstudium anregen. Diesem Zweck dienen die zahlreichen eingestreuten Literaturhinweise (die aller dings keinen Anspruch auf Vollstandigkeit erheben) sowie eine kleine Bibliographie, die grob nach den Abschnitten des Buches klassifiziert ist. Haufig sind auch Hinweise auf Lehr bucher der Netzwerk- und Systemtheorie kontinuierlicher Systeme sowie auf mathemati sche Nachschlagewerke gegeben, dies in erster Linie als Hilfestellung fur den Nichtnach richtentechniker. Hinweise auf andere Lehrbucher der digitalen Signalverarbeitung sind im wesentlichen nur dann eingestreut, wenn das behandelte Gebiet in dem jeweiligen Lehr buch besonders ausfuhrlich dargestellt ist oder ein spezielles Forschungsgebiet des jeweili gen Autors darstellt. Am Ende der Kapitel 2, 3, 4 und 6 sind einige Ubungsaufgaben (mit Angabe der Losun gen) eingestreut. In den Kapiteln 5, 7 und 9 sind die Ubungsaufgaben ersetzt durch die Be handlung eines konkreten Filterentwurfsbeispiels (siehe Abschnitt 5.2.3); das gleiche Filter wird in verschiedenen Ausfuhrungen mit verschiedenen Verfahren entworfen, und die ein zelnen Varianten werden einander gegenubergestellt."
